Bron S290 Mandolin Set

My parents had a mandoline slicer when I was young. I used it regularly and was always extremely impressed at the ease of use and results.A few years ago I purchased one (a very cheap model), which proved to be pretty useless. However, at that price, I just put it down to experience.I recently purchased this model confident that it would perform like the one I remember from my younger days, especially as the price suggested that it should be a quality product and should enable me to slice vegetables with ease.Unfortunately this has not been the case and I'm concerned that I may either have bought a fake product, or a previously used item.I'd have to say that I found it easy to adjust to produce a range of effects, but anything I put through it (e.g. onions, carrots and potatoes) merely got mangled.So, from my experience I can't say that Bron produce a poor quality product, maybe I was just unfortunate with the one I bought.Anyway I've decided to return it, but will probably buy another one soon .... surely there has to be one out there that "does what it says on the packaging".
