BUY IT!
WHO THIS IS FOR: Medical students for rotations. I actually loved this. It has great case scenarios and is very applicable. Not all the Case Files are great...this one IS. It works for more than just ER also. Highly recommend for any 3rd/4th year med student. Great for the ER test and like I said, applicable for other rotations. I'm poor, but this book was worth the money. The ER doctor I rotated with started recommend this for all future students he had.

Nice overview
This is a nice study tool and a little more fun than reading a text book. It helps me during my rotations. The best part about it is that it explains what diagnostic test to do next. It isn't too dense. A solid buy.

Great Book
I am a fourth year medical student rotating on EM. I found the cases to be pretty comprehensive, and actually go and explain pathophysiology, and apply some of the basic historical and physical exam findings that may be forgotten over time. The beginning of the book challenges you to think about each case, not just "what is the diagnosis?" but also, "what are the next steps that need to be taken?". That practice, along with the reading material, has really been wonderful. As someone preparing for internship pretty soon, this book actually makes me feel more confident in my ability to manage patients.

Case Files Emergency Medicine, Third Edition (LANGE Case Files)
Case Files Emergency Medicine, Third Edition (LANGE Case Files) is also a decent book. The only objection as a reviewer of this book is that the print is kind of hard to see. Purchase a nice night lite and all is well again. High performance book for the working practitioner or nurses alike. It is very informative, a definite in the realm of requirements.

These case files books are all fantastic.
They are used in a lot of med schools to prepare students for each area, I purchased them for someone in a PA program to prepare for each of their rotations. They love them and get compliments from NPs, doctors, and other PAs about how they are going to go buy them immediately. I highly recommend them.

Perfect for med student clerkship!
Nice overview and perfect for med student clerkship! I am not going into emergency medicine and wanted something that just gave me a good basic understanding of common emergencies. Case Files definitely provided that. However, if you are looking for more detail and current guidelines and practices in EM you may consider getting a more comprehensive resource.

Perfect for Emergency Medicine Rotation
I'm currently on my Emergency Medicine rotation and this book gives great case examples for me to review. There are quite a few trauma situations and these are very helpful situations to review, especially for real like scenarios.

Used it to study for PA-S end of rotation exams and it was a fantastic book! it had everything I needed to know. I would highly recommend it to any PA-S out there looking for a way to steady for EORs.
