Works great & quieter than my old one
We purchased this around 10 weeks ago to replace our old EcoAir that we had for over 4 years. So far, I am very impressed with this wee machine. It is so much quieter than our old EcoAir and it really pulls the moisture from the air in our house. We live in a super tiny, 2 bedroom bungalow which is just around 740sq feet/69 sqm (yes.... I know....it's tiny) and was built in 1979 with good old cheap breeze blocks and little to no insulation. Insulation was badly blasted into our cavity walls some time in the 80's and then our loft has about 2 feet of insulation that was badly installed too. So our house easily traps moisture and gets terribly damp if we don't do everything we can to keep on top of it. Being in Northern Ireland, it's constantly cold with very high humidity so it's a daily battle to keep our house dry. Particularly during the winter, we've awoken to literal condensation water running down our bedroom walls before. That completely freaked me out and I knew we needed to do something. Our HE inspector's solution was to open our windows wide and keep the heat blasted on. I told him I'd gladly do that if he was planning on paying for our heating bills. He laughed. That was his only solution for the mould and damp we were getting everywhere. It got so bad that mould destroyed our mattress and we had to purchase a new bed because it was so badly damaged with mould. We finally purchased a dehumidifier and it's been a game changer. This little machine works a charm. It has multiple settings including a timer. You can set it to the humidity that you want and the machine switches on or off once it detects that the air humidity drops above or below that number. And once it's hits the proper humidity, it switches off. It has a fantastic little setting for when you need to dry your washing indoors, which, living in rainy cold NI, happens a lot. We set the machine on the drying setting and add the amount of hours we want it to run at that level. It seems to make our washing dry faster as it pulls the moisture out of the clothes. Because we are in a bungalow, we have a central hallway with only 5 rooms in total running off it, so we simply place the machine at the top of the hall, outside the bathroom, open all 5 doors and allow the machine to run and get down to the optimal moisture level. And so far, all our rooms seem pretty dry. The water reservoir is very easy to remove and clean and it also alerts you once it's full. So far, we are delighted with how well this machine works. And it's an added bonus that it's not a noisy as our old one. Highly recommend this machine.

Excellent, quiet and effective dehumidifier
Excellent dehumidifier. Runs fairly quiet. Plenty of settings yet simple to operate. The water tank is excellent, a lot better than other other dehumidifier I've used as it has a handle on the top which makes it super easy to carry once it has been removed. Such a simple idea yet no one else does it as far as I know. Very sleek design.

Great quality, quiet running machine.
I chose this over the other offerings due to its lower wattage and running costs compared to other popular machines. I'm also a fan of Bosch being the user of many of their power tools. Wifey is surprised by the amount of moisture this collects, the stuffy damp smell is gone from the north facing spare room. It's now being utilised in the main bathroom due to the existence of mold on the ceiling and walls, early days but I'm supremely confident this machine will alleviate the unsightly issue.

Quiet, efficient, cheap to run and worth the extra cost (having compared with a cheaper brand)
I bought this to compare against a cheaper brand I'd bought that was very unimpressive and found this way better. Its measurement of humidity more or less matches my hygrometer (the other one didn't) and it's pretty efficient at pulling the moisture from the air (the other one wasn't). The tank needs emptied every four to six hours which is very easy to do. In laundry mode I hung a 10 tog duvet I'd just washed onto a clothes horse and it was completely dry within six hours! I checked my smart meter to work out running costs, and was pleased to note it only costs about 4p-ish an hour to run, which is pretty good. It's also quite quiet - about the same volume as a fridge freezer. It's easy to move around on a hard floor, but not quite so easy on carpet and the flex could do with being a bit longer, but those are the only slight negatives I've found so far.

Great machine, very efficient & effective
The 4000 is a great machine. Bought this to put upstairs in our upstairs spare room in 2 bed semi where we hang clothes to dry and bathroom is upstairs too. It collects so much water and helps to dry the washing super fast. Very happy with it and amazed to see how much water it collects - I empty it every 48 hours if clothes have been hung up in that time.

Best dehumidifier
The best dehumidifier. Had problems with my old one which I had for just under a year so had to purchase this and it's amazing! I have to empty is daily which shows how much humidity it pulls out. Its very easy to empty. The laundry mode is brilliant to dry your washing. It has a night mode which I keep forgetting to switch on but it's okay because if it detects low humidity, it switches itself off anyway and comes back on when it needs to. Honestly the best purchase for a house that needs one. We'll worth the price.

Efficient dehumidifier.
Bought to replace a less well known brand that had worked well for at least ten years. I use the dehumidifier in a corner of my old cottage that has a persistent problem with damp. It works well and maintains good humidity. The water receptacle in the Bosch is much easier to remove for emptying than the previous unit. It is quiet and the automation works well.
