These Barbies are definitely an improvement from my childhood in that they have nice articulated joints that hold their position well. They also have a softer feel. The hard plastic Barbies with unreal proportions of yesteryear, these are not. However, I do wish they had normal feet and clothes that covered a little more skin… is that too much to ask for, Mattel? Sigh. Maybe someday. Also not a fan of the slits on the back of the roller skates. It looks odd and doesn’t help in any way.Her clothes are cute but don’t cover much, so that could be better.The accessories for Malibu are ok, if unimaginative - they do fit in with her makeup artist aspirations, but could be a little less basic. They are also quite small, and alas, our almost 4-year old daughters have lost most of them.Overall these are good quality dolls, but I would wait for a sale to get another Dream Bestie.
