This thing is heavy duty, and just plain heavy. I know if it experienced a fire, everything inside would survive. Unfortunately, because it is so protective, it doesn't hold much. As others have said, the key lock is a little finicky, but I haven't had an issue with it. (Again, it doesn't hold much, so I put in my important documents that I don't need access to a lot) I also registered it on their website so if it were to be in a fire, then I can get a free replacement.

For the price this is a well built and heavy home safe. The locking mechanism is fairly lightweight but then you are not trying to stop Oceans Eleven. Will keep my important documents fire safe and dry.

I'm glad I bought this safe. It is strong and fire proof, heavy too! I had to figure out the locking system though. I have to turn the key and then press down on the top, hear a click, then I can open it. I don't know if this is the design of it, but it it works. It locks, it opens. The inside of it is a nice size, and the file folders are great. They allow me to organize my safe, to put my papers in order. I think the price wasn't bad at all for it, and would gladly buy another if it was needed.

I had to give this 4 stars simply due to the weight. It was plenty large for all of our files and documents or whatever we wanted to put in the fire box. It self super strong and sturdy. The lock worked nicely, keeping the lid closed and allowing it to open easily when unlocked. The handles are on the sides and are inset on the sides, so you have to have strong fingers in order to lift this box. I’m not sure of the weight, but my wife was unable to lift and carry this when it was empty. So don’t forget to add the weight of your contents when thinking about the overall weight of this. We had to return it as it will not be left in our home in the event of a fire and as a result both my wife and I must be able to move it into our car without the assist of the other person. We would have kept it had it been lighter weight.

This baby is solid and heavy. It’s a little tricky to open until you figure it out because you have to depress the button while pushing down on the lid to unlatch. It will fit 8x11” papers and files and small items you want kept safe.

Purchased for storage of important paperwork for a 501(c)(3) snowmobile club. It is very well built & the size accommodates letter size file folders. Came with 2 keys which was a plus.

Wishing it has a bit more storage inside the safe. It is heavy and good for storing files. However if you have a lot, you may have to buy two.

Great safe. This model is the best safe of this size I have purchased. My other two safes are not as sturdy or secure as this model. Very happy and confident with this safe!

Great quality, good for a dozen folders only, obviously very heavy.

Came missing the inside stripes , contacted the company, sent me one, contacted them again , they sent the 2nd one, took a bit of time but they promptly solved the issue

We use this product to protect valuable information records for cemeteries. Fits 8 1/2 X 11 cards and hangers. Excellent value!

I don't really like the fact that it is heavier than I thought, despite the side handles that made it attractive. I guess it is cement made against fire, which could explain the weight. But robust enough that you can stack up a lot on top of it.
