2nd Review - After using this softener, it does what it is supposed to do. I take certain medications that cause constipation, and for the past week performs well. For the relief, I would recommend.

If you've had abdominal surgery, have a history of constipation or a medical condition that causes it, or have taken pain pills in your life or even tried keto, you know that pooping is taken for granted. Don't think these are only for old people. My mom has been taking them for many many years and now I've reached the point in my life where I need them. I take them every other day. As someone with multiple allergies and medical conditions it's hard to get enough fiber in my diet. I thought I was okay. Then on the advice of my doctor I took one of these. No cramping, no bloating, no trumpets behind my bellybutton, nothing! Then the train pulled into the station and I was amazed! Instead of needing to go a few times a day, now I'm fine with one trip. The size of the pills is very easy to swallow. I have dysphagia and cannot swallow anything even the size of a Tylenol caplet. These go down easily. They have no taste, don't cause nasty burps, or heartburn. They just work. If someone even a year ago would have told me that I would be writing a review about my bowels I would have called them a liar but here we are. Everyone needs help sometime and I hope I've helped you.

I was surprised and delighted that Amazon carries this product. I had bought it at Sam’s Club many times and always liked it. Great to know I could order it online so convenience is another reason to continue purchasing it. I feel it’s a good quality product and a good value!

I have seen the TV ads recently for prescription medication for Opiod induced Constipation - Whoa!! - Why go on another prescription drug when you can probably solve the problem with this? OK, check with your Doctor first, but they are most likely to say it is a good idea, rather than going the prescription route. I have been on Docusate for over 2 years now, originally for some back door surgery issues, which worked just fine. Now, I have been on opiods steadily for going on two months, so I added another gelcap to the regimen, so instead of just 2 at night I am taking 2 at night and one in the morning. I know I can always pop another one or two if I am having any issues during a particular stretch of time. I used to have a pretty good diet with plenty of fiber but it just isn't as easy to eat properly when you are in bed a lot and can't drive or even get around the house very well. Cooking and washing dishes are exhausting tasks while recovering from surgery. Eventually I will stop the opiods and go back down to my original dose - 2 at night - but I am glad to have these and I may well be taking them for years. My digestive tract just doesn't work like it used to, 40 years ago. Along with most of the other bodily systems, it needs a little help as you get older.
