TP-Link RE813XE AXE5400 Wi-Fi 6E Tri-Band Range Extender w/Ethernet Port

I have a TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Router (Archer AXE75) which reaches all corners of my home but the signal strength at the farthest corners are weak to moderate. I wanted to boost the signal strength in and around my garage where I have a couple of remote security cameras setup. To do this, I installed the TP-Link RE813XE AXE5400 Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender in my garage. The setup and connection process was very easy to accomplish. Just plug in the extender and press the WPS button on first the router, then the extender. It may take a few minutes so be patient and wait for the connection to be made. Once connected, you can move the extender to the area where it is required and plug it in. It will reconnect to the router and if the name of the extender is the same as the router, your devices will connect to the stronger signal automatically. It could not be any simpler. The signal strength at my cameras went from moderate to excellent and the cameras became more responsive to commands issued by the camera app. I am very pleased with the RE813XE and think it well worth the cost.

Whoever says that range extenders suck because they only amplify bad signals and don't increase your speed doesn't know what they are talking about. I live in a house with a bedroom on the very opposite side of the house from the AT&T fiber gateway, behind several walls, and my signal was abysmal. I pay for 500 up/down, and I was lucky to get 46Mbps when downloading Steam games. I first bought a TP-Link RE515X and it was total garbage. I don't know if I had a faulty one or if it was because it was only dual-band instead of tri-band, but it would constantly disconnect while playing online games, which made it a total deal-breaker. I spent a month troubleshooting with TP-Link support, and they were unable to resolve the issue. I ended up returning it and bought the RE813XE instead. I've had it for a few days now, and it is FANTASTIC. I have it set up to connect to my gateway's 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, and I connect to the extender via the 6ghz band. I went from 46Mbps to almost 600Mbps. It is the same speed now as if I were in the same room as the gateway, with 100% uptime. I am blown away by how well this thing works, much better than powerline Ethernet. If you're having the same issue I did with being too far away from the router/gateway and no option to get closer to it, I would highly recommend this model. You won't be disappointed.

I've long been skeptical of Wi-Fi range extenders, but this unit made me a believer. I purchased it along with a TP-Link BE9300 (Archer BE550) router, primarily so that I could take full advantage of OneMesh/EasyMesh connectivity. Because I don't yet own any devices that support Wi-Fi 7, I don't need to extend the full Wi-Fi 7 capability of the router. However, the Wi-Fi 6E capability of the range extender means that the router and the range extender can use the 6-GHz band as a dedicated backhaul, leaving the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz bands free to connect to my devices. Even though I'm a computer-industry veteran, I generally hate having to configure networks. Installing this pair of devices, though, was remarkably easy. After ensuring that the new router was performing properly, I followed the instructions to configure the range extender. Everything worked correctly on the first try. I now have solid coverage from one ground-floor corner of my 2000-square-foot house (the router) to the opposite second-floor corner (my work computers). Because I reused the previous SSID (and let the TP-Link devices unify the three bands), I didn't need to reconfigure any other devices—they simply resumed working as before but with far better bandwidth.

While the product quality is fine, the setup is just about impossible. Other such devices I have purchased and use now were always easy to set up with the WPS on router or the device. This would not! Beware unless you have some IT or other experience, look for something else.

I have been working with wireless for 25 years. The promise of mesh array and easy addition of access points has never materialized - until now. This unit is truly plug and play and works like a champ. We have a new house and even though we'd wired ethernet throughout, we found the TV with the Nintendo was in a spot well away from the wall jack. This was the perfect solution. Plugged it in and the connection to the router via the Tether app was instant. Just like that I had gigabit ethernet connectivity to the switch feeding the TV, game console and a TV DVR distribution device. In the past I'd have routed though wall and installed new jack - a half day job. Now you simply plug this unit in the wall. Brilliant engineering. Well worth the money paid.

Very strong extender. In my application the extender is placed 25' from base router (it's brand is not TP-Link, which is a nice capability of this extender). All three bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz) are repeated at high speeds (approx 70% of maximum). This occurs over about 80% of the range of the extender. One issue, the extender makes a second SSID, the home network with "_EXT" added to the end. So often I have to manually switch to the extender's network when I want to use it. Taking off one star because of this inconvenience.

When my mesh main unit by orbi failed, this, what I travel with, worked great on getting me back up on the internet until I replace the orbi unit.. Easy to set up and great as an extender / booster

This TP-Link RE813XE Wi-Fi range extender did a wonderful job of getting my new 6G band to reach easily in the upstairs of my home. It was super easy to set up with WPS so I had it up and running within mere minutes. The range covers the upper part of my 3200 SF house without any issues and connectivity is smooth and consistent. As expected, the 6G band of my upgraded internet doesn't penetrate walls as easly as the 2G and 5G, but this booster means I can keep my 6G signal no matter where I am in the house. Woks well with my iPhone 15 pro and my laptop when using a 6G capable wireless adapter (even my relatively new high end laptop didn't come prepared to capture the 6G band signal, though it runs pretty well on 5G.
