It’s a good snug fit. Rain won’t get in and shouldn’t settle on it as it very taut (hasn’t rained yet). Wind won’t lift it either. Won’t be able to store any big things in the tray just sand, a few spades, moulds and shells, because it’s so taut.

If you want a sand pit buy this one with cover , obviously sand is purchased separately.
