Do not get one similar without a shunt as it might blow with a surge current. The LCD cannot cope with high surge voltages very well without a shunt and goes polka-dot frazzled display. (Got the T-shirt on that one!)

Brilliant meter with great display

Simple wiring diagram printed on the back of the unit made installation straightforward. Using to measure current flow from a deep cycle 12v 100ah battery used for mains backup with a Renogy inverter. One small improvement would be a arrow pointing to the top on the back diagram. Only saying because I stupidly installed upside down first. Great product and good value. Would buy again.

cable connectors abit small for my liking on 20 amp one

This should be a super little meter, it';s very easy to use and seems to be reasonably accurate, however, this is the second one that I've bought that has suffered an display failure.For no reason at all, many segments of the display just disappear . Sadly I've had this one for three months, and can't return it.After posting this review, I was contacted by DIYMORE who gave me a full refund.I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE OF THESE LITTLE METERS, (THE THIRD ONE) THIS ONE LASTED LESS THAN 12 HOURS BEFORE IT DEVELOPPED THE IDENTICAL FAULT TO THE PREVIOUS TWO, I.E. THE DISPLAY FRAGMENTING. SUCH A SHAME, AS THEY'RE SUPER LITTLE METERS IDEAL FOR LOW POWER SOLAR. CERTAINLY WONT BE RISKING A FORTH ONE HAVING SENT THIS BACK FOR (ANOTHER) REFUND

Bought to monitor power usage when running a diesel heater. Compared with a calibrater multimeter and very close.
