She was super excited and so happy she cried!!!!!
I got this series for my best friend. She expressed to me that she read this series as a child but could not find them anywhere and she desperately wanted them so she could reread them and have them for her future children. I happily found these for her and it made the perfect Christmas gift. When she opened it she started crying she was so thankful. She had told me about them earlier this year annd I searched everywhere and thankfully I was able to find it for her. And too make it better it came way way earlier than intended. Thank you so much for having these and making my best friends Christmas.

Delightful chapter books with engaging plots
My six-year-old daughter has recently moved on to chapter books. We began with the Junie B. Jones series which to my disappointment was peppered with grammatically questionable expressions, so when I came across this series based on the Disney fairies of Pixie Hollow, I decided to give them a try. My daughter loves these books! She loves fairies and her favorite fairy character is Tinker Bell so when she saw these books, she was captivated. The first boxed set contains four books:The Trouble With Tink - Tinker Bell finds herself at wits' end when she loses her tinker's hammer. There is a spare hammer, but it is located at Peter Pan's hideout. The trouble is that both Tink and Peter have not been on good terms since Peter brought Wendy to Never Land. Will Tink find a way to make amends and restore her tinker talent?Vidia and the Fairy Crown - Vidia, a fairy that has been known to be mean-spirited, finds herself in a quandary when she is blamed for the loss of Queen Clarion's crown. Initially, Vidia adopts a "don't care" attitude but when she discovers the penalty for crown stealing, Vidia finds herself racing against time to find the crown and restore her good name.Beck and the Great Berry Battle - Beck the animal-talent fairy finds herself trying to restore peace in Pixie Hollow when the hummingbirds and chipmunks start a war with each other.Lily's Pesky Plant - Lily loves plants and nothing makes her happier than watching plants grow. When Lily comes across a strange seed, she plants it and to her surprise, an ugly plant grows. Unfortunately, everyone else in Pixie Hollow finds the plant to be ugly with a disgusting smell. Will Lily have to destroy her beloved plant? The stories are all engaging, and will delight any fan of fairy stories. Though the recommended age is 9 and up, I think this book is a perfect chapter book for children who are improving in their reading proficiency and are ready to move on to chapter books. The chapters are about 14-15 pages in length which may be a bit daunting to younger reader but some gentle pacing might help them get through. My daughter managed one chapter a day, in about three sittings per chapter, but I imagine older children will be able to get through these books much faster. There are also lovely color illustrations of the fairies and their surroundings, and even though these illustrations do not appear on every page, they are frequent enough to motivate children to read. The stories are well-written, and the sentences are varied enough to make reading an engaging and interesting experience. I highly recommend this series, which also includes:Tales From Pixie Hollow 2 (4 Copy Box Set) (Prilla and the Butterfly Lie, Masterpiece for Bess, Fira and the Full Moon, Rani in the Mermaid Lagoon)Tales From Pixie Hollow Collection #3 Box Set (Disney Fairies)Tales From Pixie Hollow Collection #4 (Disney Fairies)

The books in each set - and some info on 'order'
Great books! We have been reading these to our kindergartener as bedtime chapter books. She's currently reading at a mid/late 1st grade level. I'm not sure whether she could read these on her own yet (I tend to think the length/complexity might be a bit daunting), but she's been loving having us read them to her.Because it has taken a LOT of searching for me to figure out exactly which books are in each set (at this point in time, they're not all listed here individually), I thought I'd try to save someone else the trouble:It appears (based on publication dates) that Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg 'starts' this series. It is NOT included in any of the box sets. I do know that references to this book are mentioned in at least some of the books in the box sets.Box Set 1:The Trouble with TinkVidia and the Fairy CrownBeck and the Great Berry BattleLily's Pesky PlantTales From Pixie Hollow 2:Rani and the Mermaid LagoonFira and the Full MoonA Masterpiece for BessPrilla and the Butterfly LieIt also seems that Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand fits between box set #2 and box set #3, at least based on publication dates. I don't know if there are references to it in the later books, or how it truly 'fits' in the series yet - I'll try to remember to update when we've read that far!). It also is not included in any of the sets, but is seperate, just like _Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg_ that kicks things off.Tales From Pixie Hollow Collection #3 Box Set:Tink, North of NeverlandBeck Beyond the SeaDulcie's Taste of MagicSilvermist and the Ladybug CurseTales From Pixie Hollow Collection #4, coming out August 25, 2009:Fawn and the Mysterious TricksterIridessa, Lost at SeaRosetta's Daring DayQueen Clarion's SecretComing 6/1/2010 - Another Gail Carson Levine addition: Fairies and the Quest for Never Land (Disney Fairies)And, I'm willing to bet that there will be another box set out before too long (early 2011, maybe?) as there are other individual books being released now:Myka Finds Her Way (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)) (Jan 2010)Lily in Full Bloom (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)) (May 2010)Vidia Meets Her Match (Disney Chapters) (Sept 2010)Four Clues for Rani (Disney Fairies) (A Stepping Stone Book(TM)) (Jan 2011)Hope that saves someone some time and effort! (and with the 'edits to add' helps others figure out which order they 'should' go in!)
