Q: is this a liquid, or granular?

Hello. It's granular and aboout the size of kosher salt, maybe a tiny bit larger. They recommend you put about 2 lbs. in your sewer line when things start to flow slower (either toilet nearest to ground, or in cleanout plug in the sewer line) in a timeframe of every six months.

Q: How long did it take to work?

We used it as a maintenance precaution to avoid future problems.

Q: How do you measure 1/2 lb. at a time.

I put 3/4 of a 16 oz beer cup in the bowl add this once a month to keep roots out of the pipes. I used a scale for food to come up with this amount
