On New Years Eve 1979, Blondie performed live for the Old Grey Whistle Test BBC 2 TV Show, at the Apollo in Glasgow. Marking the turn of a new decade performing from December 1979 to January 1980, Blondie wowed their live audience with fan favourites such as Heart of Glass, Hanging on the Telephone, Denis plus many many more! 5 stars all the way BLONDIE never looked better
This is a first rate cd/dvd collection! First disc is the full complete classic New years Eve Glasgow show of December 31st 1979 remastered and sounding better than any of the other bootlegs out there. Next THE BEST PART OF THE COLLECTION is the DVD. All of Blondie's BBC appearances are gathered here looking crisp and new fresh from the 70's. The Old grey Whistle test (Fan Mail, Detroit 442, and Presence Dear), The top of the Pops and the full televised special of Blondie's New Years Eve 1979 Glasgow show! The only thing I didn't like was that the original audio track for "Denis" on top of the Pops was not used and the original Single version was sused instead which still looks and sounds nice but Debbie Harry's vocal retake made special just for the show is missing here and the Old grey Whistle Test from 1978 is in monaural or Mono sound in stead of stereo. but all in all this is a fantastic set for any Blondie fanatic!!!!!

DVD awesome
I'm an original Blondie fan.First 4 albums.I saw Blondie summer of 79 in L.A.Great show. The Dvd footage of Blondie is supper cool especially songs from their second and third albums. However the New Years eve 1979 material is not as good as I hoped. Some of songs where re-arranged and the over sound and vocals were sub-par.Therefore I will not use the CD much.It was still worth it for 1/2 of the DVD I loved.

AWESOME BLONDIE DOCUMENT!!!!
This is by far one of the best live albums I have listened not only for the music itself and the band's performance that is GREAT! (I really had no idea how good Blondie was playing live) but also for the fact that this is a show played 31 years ago!!! There was no technology back then nor computer editing to record a show so crispy and bright as the way this one sounds. It is a shame that the concert on the DVD is just met halfway but still, I understand that this show was meant to be televised for an hour or so. As far as the DVD other features are concerned, the performances at the Old grey's are great! so real and natural but the Top pf the pops appereances are kind of silly but, again I understand that the show was just meant to show the bands postures (whatever band that was invited there) and not the real talent that they had. Let me remind you that when The Smiths appeared for the first time in that show Morrissey refused to go out there with playback so, instead of holding a microphone pretending that he was singing, he took a bunch of flowers and made the complete fool of himself and THAT was an icon moment for them... and judging by the way Blondie used to play live I'm sure that they were not very happy with that either. Awesome concert from a band I already liked for their studio work but, now I wish I had lived the days where I could see them playing live this way. A must have for fans and for music collectors.

LIVE DONE RIGHT
This entire DVD is excellent. The live 38 minutes of footage is a standout....perfect lighting, sound, stage direction, and especially minimal audience visual/audio interference. The real Debbie (seventies) with a lot of Clem Burke, deservedly so. Also the videos are perfection.

Blondie At Their Best
Although I was six years old when this concert took place, it still is one heck of a live set. I own the PICTURE THIS LIVE:ESSENTIAL BLONDIE live album as well as the Blondie Live album and I must say that like the other two live sets, I was not let down. This set also comes with an additional DVD with live performances from Top Of the Pops as well as the New Years eve concert at the Apollo Theatre in Glascow, Scotland. Both CD and DVD capture Blondie at their best. Here are the songs I frequently listen to: The Hardest Part , Victor (2001 Digital Remaster) , Seven Rooms Of Gloom (Live) (2001 Digital Remaster) , Slow Motion (2001 Digital Remaster) , Atomic (2001 Digital Remaster) , Picture This Live , Slow Motion (Live) , I Feel Good ( James Brown cover) and One Way Or Another (2001 - Remaster) . The DVD further enhances the experience because you can actually see the band performing the songs. This is a great live set

Great audio recording and fascinating video footage of the band at its peak
This CD features Blondie sounding as great as they ever did live. The band plays the big hits from Parallel Lines and almost all of Eat to The Beat. A few earlier classics such as "X Offender" are included. The video is historic since it features the Parallel Lines lineup, likely never to be seen again in concert, in top form.

Sicuramente consigliato.

This gig at the Glasgow Apollo took place on New Years Eve 1979, this really is a historical document, the atmosphere sounded electric, the Scots love their New Tear, and it's really something to hear Blondie live in concert in such a setting. Everything about Blondie's music defines both the punk or more specifically "new wave" sound and so much of the great 80's pop music is down to Blondie, a host of great 80s stars would not have come about had it not been for Debbie Harry and Blondie, Kim Wilde and Madonna to name but two. The recording is generally great quality, Debbie's vocals are so crystal clear and higher in the mix than anything else, she was and in fact still is a superb vocalist, a true Queen of pop music, fantastic voice. The only slight downside is that drums are a little subdued sounding, which is normal for 70's live recordings, Clem Burke was/is such a phenomenal drummer, it's a shame the drums sound a little distant, but nonetheless this is not a bootleg quality, it's a great quality live recording arguably Blondie at their peak. The DVD is great too, as others have pointed out it's a bit of a disappointment that is in NTSC despite it all being filmed by pal facilities, whilst the picture and sound quality are not 100% the actual content is, can not bring myself to give this 4 stars because of some minor defects, there are much worse quality live recordings out there, and for 9 quid this is a great package, a must for any fan of Blodnie, especially of what is arguably their golden era

Excelente compra.
