How much chance of cross contamination is there?** A: I would believe what is said on the package. I would assume that there would be cross contamination. If you have health concerns, I would not buy it. **Q: How many dishes can I make with each individual packet?** A: I would call each packet a single meal packet. You add 1 cup of water, 3Tbsp of butter, and 1lb of chicken. I am obsessed with this stuff though! I start mine this way (substituting broth for the water and I do 1.5 cups instead of 1) and then let it simmer for 10 minutes covered, add red/yellow/orange bell pepper (2 whole peppers total) and half of a medium sized onion, cover and simmer for 5 minutes, then add thin sliced zucchini and 1/2 can of coconut milk, cover and simmer for the last 5 minutes! We serve it over brown rice typically with naan on the side. It's a family favorite and I would say it feeds 4 adults when prepared this way. **Q: Are there trans fats or partially hydrogenated oils in this ?** A: Some sunflower oil **Q: How many dishes can I make with each individual packet?** A: Depends on how motivated you are. Let me explain. The first time I made this, I followed the directions and found myself with with a little island of about 1lb of chicken surrouned by an ocean of luscious sauce. I thought, this goes a LOT further than a pound of chicken. So I started experimenting with adding more chicken and other ingredients - sliced mushrooms, canned chickpeas, canned peas, canned sliced potato. These days, I use two packs of this (and 6Tbsp butter, but only one cup water), a REALLY big slow cooker, 4+lbs of chicken (boneless, skinless thighs), 1lb sliced fresh button mushrooms, 4 15oz cans of chickpeas, 2 15oz cans of peas, 2 15oz cans of sliced potato, to make a total of about 10 to 12 servings at once. (12 if you're serving it over rice, 10 if you are just eating nice big bowls of it). (Instructions: just pitch it all in there, 8hrs on low, eventually the chicken starts falling apart, at which point you stir it to evenly distribute the sauce.) The resultant chicken and veggies in butter-chicken-curry-sauce stew is thick and hearty and delicious; it freezes fabulously, though on defrost some of the water will separate out, just heat and stir it back in to reconstitute.
