Yes, this is worth buying because...
The media could not be loaded. If you are trying to make a fast decision, this little rechargeable light is it. It’s the size of a baseball. The highest level is a strong light. It has a solid red feature and a flashing feature. It’s a good value. End of short review. Keep reading for more information.Helpful tips for other uses beyond the obvious camping: shine the light on a jug of water or even a glass of water and the light will light up a larger space. An event planner could use colored water in a vase of water and create a magical table setting, or picnic table or during a burn ban - the red light creates the illusion of a campfire. Oh well... that’s not what you came to read so let’s get started.I specifically was seeking all the features in this light. I wanted a solid red light feature because red light does not blind my eyes at night. With a red light, I can still see the stars at night. One of my sons hates reading long reviews. He said”no one reads long reviews” - which is why he constantly returns items. My other son reads the reviews. If the reviews are honest, he’s thrilled with his purchases. I want you to be thrilled with your purchase. I want you to be happy with your decision. This review was a joy to write because the device was exactly what I needed and performed brilliantly. Another person may not need all the features that I need- yet. I’ll be buying more of this particular rechargeable lamps. If you are willing to read more - you’ll learn why and if not - stop here.Good for camping, office, home office, car, RV, van life, Skoolie, cruise, travel, bugout bag, boats, emergency lights, off-grid cabin, backyard bbq, walking, hiking, baby’s nursery, walking to bathroom at night, tent light, campfire light, RV and more. Yes, I plan to send this device to friends and family. We lost electrical power this summer on one of the hottest days of the summer meaning the nights were hot too. I am upgrading my emergency tech. Thankfully I go camping and my devices came to the rescue while neighbors’ kids were franticly separated from their video games. Disposable batteries had been used. I decided to upgrade to rechargeable and this time be sure to keep the power batteries charged at all times. I need all items to be useful for more than one task. I purchased this small lightweight rechargeable light and remain satisfied with my decision. Here’s why:Get free charging using solar or big battery generator. I use Rockport and Suaoki chargers also sold on Amazon to recharge the device.I like:- works as described- rechargeable with a lightweight easily shared cable- bright light can be reduced in intensity- solid red light for dark nights doesn’t blind my eyes- flashing red light option- lightweightI don’t like:The SOS signal isn’t US military specification according to someone who is a veteran. He said it’s “too fast.” I’m not an expert on SOS signals so I included a video for your review. Please comment below in my review section to let all of us know your opinion. That’s the only feature not to like. I would still use the red flashing light feature at the side of the road as a safety flasher. The story: Once there was debris on a rural highway. As night fell, my teen was driving and drove over the debris ruining the car. People were driving far beyond the speed limit and other accidents were caused. If I had this device in my bug out bag, hopefully I would have been able to prevent other accidents. Years have passed. He’s a great father and husband. I plan to order another one and ship it to his address and ask him to keep it in his fancy Audi just in case another teen makes his mistake and he finds himself needing an emergency light and flasher. Personally, everyone should have one of these devices in their car. I purchased this device for camping. I’ve ordered other rechargeable lights. This is the only light that I recommend to ride around in a car. Charge it every few months and it will always be ready to work.- About the handle: it looks weak. Because a similar design on another device broke at the base, I plan to create a stronger handle. The story: The clip is a nice design idea but the base of the clip is where another device broke the first time I used that other device on a camping trip. Now you understand my concern. When camping - you don’t want stuff to break and certainly don’t want stuff to break the first time you put the device into action. Yes, I know how to make things work and create workarounds. So in advance, I plan to create a new handle for the device. My mother now deceased used to say: “A word to the wise is sufficient.”The request: If you found this review helpful, or anyone else’s review helpful, please select the helpful button. The why: This easy action on your part is incredibly important to other consumers to let them know the review is worth reading and helps sellers and manufacturers create better products.Thank you for your time.Don’t believe the hype. Time is the only non renewable precious resource that we are born. Through human history, people will enslave people to steal their time. People will trade time for money. Time is your precious resource. This device will help you use your time wisely.I thank you for sharing your time reading and commenting on this review.

Excellent, with one caveat
There are two versions of the lantern, and they each have their strengths. This is the larger one, which is extremely bright. My home does not have as many electrical outlets as I could wish, especially since electronics have become so much more widely used. I don't camp, I use the lanterns in an odd corner where it's much easier to just hang them on a hook or set them on a table. then try to run a very long extension cord from the other side of the room. This is great for that, and a lot less trouble than the battery-operated lanterns I had been using.Added later: The only trouble I've had is that the hanging handle broke, but I didn't use it all that much once I got a lantern with remote. This became more or less the lantern that I keep in reach when I wake up at night. I plan to get another, at which point this will be in the car for emergencies. This takes a little longer to charge than my Siiviton, but since I just plug them into the charger when I leave for work, that's no big problem. I also think that the Siiviton lasts a little longer, maybe an hour or so, and it charges a bit faster, but it doesn't have the magnet (and that's why this is the one that is going to the car).I use this lantern at it's highest power, and it really lights up the area and is great for reading. Brightness uses a lot of energy, of course -- so my one caveat is that after 8-10 hours, it needs to be recharged. This isn't a problem for me, but it could be for someone who isn't going to be able to use a charger. It lasts the evening for me, and I just plug it in to be recharged when I don't need it. Of course, it can also be used at a lower light level, and should then last longer. I also have the smaller version, which has a softer light -- I keep it next to my bed and it's handy when I don't need much light, and lasts longer too. It was also adequate to read by, but I'm glad I have both.

Cool product!
UPDATE: I received a response from the seller that the lights operate in two different modes. When they were shipped, apparently, two lights were set to one mode and one light was set to the other mode. The seller instructed me how to switch between modes and now I see there is no problem with the lights. They are exactly what I needed for my project.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought a one-pack and two-pack of this light to use in an art installation. Although they were all selected from the same page and looked exactly the same, they are not the same product. This light has a different white light from the two-pack lights. It also has a red light option, which the two pack lights do not.I need the same color light from all three lights. I have contacted the manufacturer, per guidance on the Amazon page, to resolve this. The two-pack lights are the perfect size and work great. I can't find another comparable light so I'm hoping the manufacturer can tell me how to get another matching light without buying another two-pack.I'm documenting the situation here in case it's not resolved before the return deadline. I'll update my review based on the response from the manufacturer.

The light is pretty directional.
I would like to give this light a better review but it has one major drawback, at least for me.Pros:* It feels well made.* The light is bright.* It has no blink mode. Most flashlights and light have a stupid blink or SOS mode. That really annoys me but this one doesn't have it.Con:* I had assumed from how it looks that it would have a fairly even light but what I have found is that the majority of the light that it produces is focused in a single hot spot. My intent was to use this in a tent where I want a more even light. I have somewhat remedied the situation by taking a fine sandpaper to the clear lens and by putting a second piece of clear plastic over the lens that I also sanded. It still has a hotspot but more smoothly fades away than before.
