Single-channel output makes this a basic, but decent, improvement over built-in mics
These microphones are a basic upgrade for entry-level audio recording suitable for reporters (but not video journalists), beginning podcasters, and those who want better audio on teleconferences without wearing a headset. What makes these a BASIC upgrade is the mono output. Despite coming with two mics, the receiver outputs a single audio stream—you can't record the two mics independently. That means you can't adjust the gain independently to ensure both mics have the sound level you want. You're at the mercy of the built-in automatic gain mechanism, which is pretty good. But if you're at the level where you expect to take your sound into a program like Logic to do a serious mix on it, the Boya mics aren't for you.The USB-C receiver presents as a standard USB audio input device, so it's plug-and-play with just about anything modern. If your iPhone or iPad has a USB-C jack, plug it in and it just works. On a Mac or PC, you may need to select the receiver in your sound-input settings, especially if you've got a monitor that tries hijacking your sound input (all too common). It's definitely designed for use with a phone; when used on a Mac or PC, it'll block adjoining ports. There's a charging case that holds the microphones and receiver, borrowing heavily from the AirPods case. While the microphones are magnetically retained, nothing keeps the receiver from falling out if you tilt the case, a bit of an oversight.Sound quality is... okay. These aren't professional microphones. But to my old ears, the sound is just fine with no obvious flaws, and it's a distinct improvement over using your laptop's built-in microphone. So if you're looking for that plug-and-play sound upgrade, don't care about independent mixing, and "good enough" sound quality is good enough, they're pretty reasonable. They won't replace a Røde, never mind the lav mics you can get from Shure or Sennheiser or the like. But if you just need a mic you can clip on someone to get non-boomy sound while you film them with your iPhone and your post-processing is "just send it," go for it.

A+++++ execution. Charging case/carrier. Excellent sound quality and noise cancellation.
After reviewing these, I must state that every now and then there's a product that just blows you away due to its design and its features.Functionally, this is nothing more than a wireless microphone system. You plug it into your computer/phone/tablet and you talk. You get two microphones, a transmitter, and a charging station/carrier.But what makes these so impressive for me are the way they executed this functionality. (Spoilers: KUDOS to the team who designed these!).First off, there are no drivers to even worry about, making this extremely easy to use. This comes with a transmitter which plugs in directly to your phone/tablet/laptop via its USB-C port. Then, it becomes the responsibility of the transmitter to negotiate its connection to the microphones. So, you don't have to fiddle with Bluetooth settings in your phone. And what a connection it is! This thing claims to have a range of 100 meters (328 feet) with a clean line of sight. I, for one, have not tested its full range yet, but I have noticed that I can start a Teams meeting on speaker, run downstairs to the kitchen to pour myself a cup of coffee, and people are none the wiser: I can continue talking without my remote peers hearing me fiddling with the coffee machine.Noise cancelling is another amazing feature. In a noisy environment, I can talk normally and what others hear is clean and crisp. No background noise. No clanging. No passing cars. Your voice sounds warm and crisp. The last thing I want to talk about is the case. Prior to these, I had not seen this form factor. It holds your microphones and transmitter together in one place while charging your microphones. This is similar to your earpods, where the case is the charging station and carrier. Why have other manufacturers not followed suit?I feel that this is an incredible value for your money, and I would not go back to using any other microphone system that does not have this form factor, or who has the same level of functionality as this microphone set. A++++++!!!

BOYA Wireless Lavalier Lapel Microphone for Android Smartphone - Not Working
I'm pretty tech savvy, but no matter what I tried, I could not get it to work. I even tried to find some kind of setup instruction videos to make sure I was doing everything correctly. They state that you should be able to charge your phone through the receiver that plugs into the USB C port, however it wouldn't even do that. Maybe the receiver is bad, the mic itself would light up and flash as if it was trying to connect. Pretty bummed that it didn't work. BOYA is usually a pretty decent product.

Video lesson recording
The BOYA V30 wireless mic has totally leveled up my video lesson recording setup. Crystal-clear audio, even with background noise, thanks to its noise canceling. I love the long 36-hour battery—it easily lasts through multiple sessions as I refine my video instructions. The range is impressive; I’ve walked around the room with zero dropouts. Plug-and-play with my Android and Mac laptop—super convenient!
