Best Beginner-Friendly Coffee Machine with Built-in Grinder
We recently bought this coffee machine as first-time users, and we’ve only just started drinking black coffee, so we were looking for something simple and convenient. This machine turned out to be a great choice. The standout feature is the built-in coffee grinder, which means you can use fresh beans every time without needing a separate grinder. It also doesn’t require paper filters, which is very convenient and saves money in the long run. The machine is very easy to use, even for beginners like us, and the coffee tastes fresh and flavorful. Cleaning and maintenance are simple as well, making it hassle-free for daily use. Overall, it’s a great all-in-one coffee machine and perfect for beginners who are just getting into black coffee. Definitely worth the purchase!

Nothing like freshly milled coffee in the morning
I like this coffee maker a lot. I'm not a coffeemaker expert, but I do expect a coffee make to simply work in the morning as this starts my day off right. I've had this coffee maker over 6 months and it has not disappointed. It grinds the coffee to my liking and with the automatic timer, I have wonderful aroma of coffee waiting for me when I come downstairs. Easy to operate and easy to clean. Quite simply, a very functional coffee maker. By the way, my wife, who is a coffee snob, likes the taste of the coffee from this coffeemaker. Life is good with freshly made coffee...

Does the best job
Your coffee house won't miss you, but you may arrive after your first cup when you start using this B&D mill & brew! I was (kinda) hoping to get that coffee house flavor with this. I figure it's a "regular" drip coffee maker, with a grinder. It pretty much is. No blooming, no rain shower brew head so get the best beans that you can. Because those are what makes the cup. I have been playing around with beans for some time now, since getting this coffee maker & I actually came across the ones which make the brew house coffee that I have been trying to make at home (see review elsewhere here). The pot helps, but it's the beans! "I don't want a decent cup of coffee. I want a great cup of coffee". Before finding the right coffee (I'm not done by any means). The bottom line is that it's about the beans, & so few miss the mark. I was only rating this machine at about a 3.5. It behaves very well, & the nearly direct brew is good. My 12 dollar drip does that. I really like the flavor that comes from the brews on this B&D. I don't like that you can't add a paper filter, as I "found" it helps with reducing cholesterol, but I can actually. You don't always have to grind in the unit. You can pre grind. you beans. I am happy that I purchased this one, over the "other" popular one. As you can hear from the video, this really is super quiet! Which was one of the factors in it's purchase, the other was that the path is more direct, after grinding. Which gives you all of the oils & flavor. Even simple beans taste decent. For the most part it grinds up all of the beans (and quickly), leaving only a few on top sometimes. You can use the 6 grind for a four if you'd like, which will give it more grind time, but often I think it should stop sooner. Strength settings. When on max, it tends to get close to over flowing the grounds (grinds) into the pot, so be careful there. If you're trying to extract as much as you can, you may want to find something else, or use the 6 scoops for 4 grind & hope it works better for you. Clean up isn't bad. It does take WAY more time than a basket. I compost my grounds, but can't get everything out. There are less grounds or dust than other machines, but there are more crevices on this. Overall I am very happy that I picked this Black & Decker Mill & brew machine up. I have a bunch of B&D stuff in my house, & now I have some fresh B&D coffee to start my day with. Who doesn't like a little to start their day? It's a twelve cup carafe, so it's large compared to the 5 cup units I usually buy. For those who want more control over the amount of coffee they use. You can grind 4 but add any amount of water. It grinds on one setting, but always brews what's in the tank. Which is an easy way to overcome the extra strong overflow mentioned above. Anyhow, bottom line after using a few bags of beans. I am very glad that I went with this Black & Decker Mill & Brew coffee maker. I really was leaning towards two other ones, as well as a commercial maker, but saw this one suggested so pondered it for nearly a month. Stop pondering & get the cup of coffee you deserve. Sunday's breakfast is so much more delightful with a little B&D brewing in the kitchen. Oh, one more thing. I detest the translucent side fill window. They (and everyone) have to make it darker). The second pot is okay, the condensation marks where you were at the last time.

Near perfect! Do not waste $200+ on other "better" brands
This auto grind brewer is coffee's best kept secret with MAYBE one catch. This is my third time purchasing one. I keep coming back each year because for the price you can't beat it. It outperforms the 300+ Breville I had to warranty twice. The Breville was a giant pain to clean every day with poorly designed construction. This is 1/4 of the price, the basket and blade design is simple, easy to use, and easy to clean. NOTHING beats freshly ground coffee ready as I wake up. Now THIS is my third one. I've bought one each year because the water eventually stops dripping very fast into the basket, and it actually gets so hot that much of the water evaporates before it gets to the carafe. Is this a durability issue or is it because I'm terrible at regular cleaning and descaling? Giving Black and Decker the benefit of the doubt here, but no amount of descaling seems to solve this - but again it may be because I hadn't kept up routine maintenance. Other than that, I love everything about it, including 12 cup capacity that is perfect for me drinking coffee all morning.

Great product and great value
Just got delivered and I immediately unpacked it and brewed my first pot of coffee. Nice 12 cup capacity, temperature was right to my liking, very easy setup, filling instructions produced a delicious pot of coffee. Very pleased I also found the grinder works very well, easy to clean and very quiet operation in comparison to two other machines I have had. Very pleased and in my opinion, a great product and value.

Horrible Coffee Pot in Every Way!
This coffee pot doesn't deserve a 1 star. It is horrible in every way. To begin, it takes about 25 minutes to make a 4 cup pot of coffee. You have to set the coffee maker on 6 cups to make a 4 cup pot. When you remove the carafe from the machine after it is finished brewing, the machine will drip, making a horrible mess on the heating element. The first cup is pretty good, but when you go to pour that second cup, it will look like sludge because there are so many coffee grounds in the carafe. Another horrible thing about this coffee pot is that the steam coming out from the top is absolutely insane. If you have wooden cupboards and the coffee pot is sitting below, over time your wood will be ruined from the film of steam and water that settles on them. The cleanup isn't the greatest. you have to empty the coffee grounds in your trash can then rinse the remaining grounds down the sink. Not a good thing. I called Black and Decker customer service, and it was a joke. I called on 5 occasions. First call they requested that I send them 5 different photos, which I did. No response for 3 days. I called them back and they told me I had to provide a pic of the bottom of the coffee maker w/the model number. I did that with no response. Called them back and then they told me I had to provide a pic with the cord cut in to two pieces! Insane! I asked them why the heck wasn't anyone responding to the pics I had already emailed, and why the heck they didn't tell me about these other pictures I needed to send in. No explanation. They gave me a website to check the status of my claim. I logged in and couldn't find anything under my name or claim number. I will never buy a Black and Decker product again. Their products and customer service are horrible!

A former 20 year cuisnart grind and brew user review: this pot is BETTTER !!!
I love this pot! It makes great coffee is easy to clean and is quiet. Mainly I was SHOCKED by how quiet it is (compared to the cuisnart) please note the following: I owned 1 grind and brew for 13 years it was used everyday. The basket door broke and I had a piece of duct tape holding it shut. My mom bought me the newer thermacrafe grind and brew. The carafe part started leaking during the brewing cycle and the replacement carafe would stop up & hot coffee would spill everywhere while brewing it lasted 3 years. The replacement I bought a glass carafe one. It lasted a year and a half. The grinder went and the door basket pops open during brewing. Same thing with its replacement.. Grinder broke door started to malfunction. DONE ! I looked at a lot of online reviews, apparently cuisnart quality is less then up to the same level it was in the early 90s when I bought my first model. I like whole bean coffee and I will not settle for a no grinding pot. I found this one on Amazon; the price was the same as the replacement grinder for the cuisnart. I love this pot. As of now I can't speak of the products longevity but it is made well Factors other people have complained about that don't effect me 1 the extra piece for cleaning ( two prices) I'm used to four pieces 2 the fact you have to hit button twice to brew ?? I don't have this problem on my model 3 the fact the lid doesn't come off carafe. I can still clean it so I don't care Things that make this better then the cuisnart ( I feel like such a traitor) lol 1 It has a sneak a cup feature no grind and brew ever had that 2 it grinds in the basket !!! Genius !!so no ongoing door malfunctions as with the grind and brew not to mention now there are two parts plus carafe to clean not four parts plus carafe 3 it is quiet !! As grind and brew fans we always justify the noise the machine made I no longer need to do this there is literally no more noise 4 it has a stronger brew feature and the grinder adjusts to the amount of beans 4 6 8 10 12 cups 5 the water reservoir is on the outside so it's easy to see how much water is actually in there 6 the design keeps the machine cleaner. If you know cuisnart grind and brew you know you spend a lot of time cleaning grinds out of every crevice & srubbing out around the grinder part no more!!! Hurray ! 7 makes a awesome cup of coffee !! Please keep in mind I only use whole bean coffee so that is what I base my reviews on. Love this pot

Solid Programmable Coffee Maker with built in blade grinder
I recommend this Black & Decker Mill & Brew 12-cup Programmable coffee maker to anyone seeking a maker with a built in grinder. I give this a 3.5 to 4 stars compared to other coffee makers with built in grinders that I have had over the years. See the Pros & Cons to understand star ratings, experience and observations. My Cuisinart Programmable Coffee Maker with built in Blade Grinder started flaking on me after roughly 8 or 9 years of loyal use. It was a solid 4 to 4.5 stars IMO. Would have bought that again as that little trooper made at least one pot (often more than one Sat & Sun) everyday. I tried to get the Krupp's (4.5 stars!!!!) version that the Cuisinart (3.5 to 4 stars) replaced or another Cuisinart but neither could be found in a couple of months of searching & shopping. After asking around... my friend had this Black & Decker Mill & Brew coffee maker in RED. It is a trooper and has been serving her well in the past few years, especially during the pandemic. So I decided to get one myself but in black. The first unit that arrived was clearly a returned unit but I wasn't too concerned until day 3 and it wouldn't power up. A lemon perhaps? It's maybe why it was used and returned in the first place? Regardless, Amazon was great and they shipped a replacement the next day: Amazon didn't miss a beat. The replacement was obviously brand new and has worked just as well as my friend's red one for the few days. ADVICE: Hang on to all packaging for the return period just in case. ***** Pros ***** + Has a 12-cup capacity rather than more common 10-cup capacity + Has built in reusable filter as part of grinder unit so no need for added expenses and waste for disposable filters + Has three "Strength" options. + Intuitive clock and auto brew timer set up options + More reasonable price point than other similar models ($73 vs. $200 to $500+) ***** Cons ***** - Reusable grinder basket is a little challenging from which to clean grinds - No ability to adjust brew temperature and or hot plate temperature - Grinder is adequate but can only grind whole beans to a medium coarseness compared to other grinder + brew machines I've owned. If you need a finer/ fine grind, you'll need to use a higher end grinder. - Water reservoir cup capacity written in white which is difficult to see and read. My other makers have used black text which is far easier to read. -------------------------------------------------------- Observations & Recommendations -------------------------------------------------------- * TIP: I was able to trick the grinder into a finer than medium grind by telling it there was 12-cups worth of beans when I was actually brewing 8-cups of coffee. * TIP: To get 8-cups, put in 9-cups of water according to the water reservoir markers. * TIP: Dump the used grinds as soon as you can post brewing to make it easier to clean the reusable filter basket. Since the blades do not remove for cleaning, better to not let them dry in place. If you forget... it can be a PIA to get all the grinds from under the center rotation section of the blades.

Fantastic!
I have no idea why anyone would complain about this machine. It's super easy to use and easy to clean and produces a great cup of coffee. I was always hesitant about buying a machine with a built in grinder because I assumed it would require too much cleaning but not this guy. You can remove the filter basket as well as the interior basket with the shower head so you can make sure everything is squeaky clean before you make coffee again. Super easy. Also Black & Decker makes a good product. My previous coffee maker was a B&D basic bitch model and I had it for over 10 years at least. Over all, great product and worth the money.

Bonita y práctica
Excelente cafetera. Es practica e intuitiva para usarse. No necesita filtro de papel y es muy facil de limpiar. El molino es bueno, aunque no se puede ajustar la calidad del molido. Muy recomendable

Loved it as much as I love my coffe in black😉
Loved it as much as I love my expresso it successfully replaced my all in one espresso -latte -cappuccino maker as I am only intersted in my black coffee had to use a step down voltage for American / Canadian use in India ...that cost me as much as the machine cost but the output is a perfect cup of joe each time , moreover I knew it before I bought it so no hard feelings for that😉 ...grinds beans to a perfection and is quite user friendly even though with a professional touch !!
