Works Perfectly
I have been using this for a couple of months now and it has worked perfectly for me every time! I have a 2018 Honda CRV and I actually would have more connection problems using the USB cable to connect my phone to my car. It seemed the USB connection to my phone would get sensitive to getting bumped as it was used over and over to connect to my car. Everything about plugging it in was frustrating. Now my phone just automatically connects to my car when I start it, and I don't even have to take my phone out of my pocket while I'm driving if I don't want to. This has also made paying with my phone at drive-throughs a LOT more convenient since I don't have to unplug my phone from my car and re-connect in order to reach the phone out the window. Everything else seems to work the same as when I plugged it in. I've noticed no loss in functionality. I wish I'd switched to this sooner.

Didn't think this could work... but it really does!!!!
I stumbled across this product by accident. I had no idea there was a legit way to add Wireless to my Honda CR-V's CarPlay. I have to admit I was incredibly skeptical. I have always hated having to plug in my phone in to access CarPlay because I worry the constant micro-charging is degrading my battery. Cue the Ottocast Mini Edge (the 2025 silver-edged one). Initial setup was easy, but then it needed a update. OK, great. Once I figured out how to do that, it updated quickly and easily (the update took place and finished completely while I was in line at a drive-thru, actually). However, you basically have to delete and setup all over again after an update. That's inconvenient and odd, but, no worries. I did that and then... it just works!! I cannot believe it, but it does!!!! In the month I've had this and used it, I've never had any issues with it connecting right away. The only problems I've had are actually more quirks and may be Honda or Apple problems. First, there is a significant delay when I hit skip/rewind when playing back podcasts or music. That is probably due to the nature of the wireless setup. The other issue I've had is that sometimes the screen is just black. Even if my audio is playing, the screen is showing nothing. Originally, I thought the only fix was to unseat and reseat the Ottocast, but eventually, I learned I can just return to my car's Home screen and then launch CarPlay again and everything works. Again, this may not even be the Ottocast's issue. This is a fantastic product!!

Doesn't always connect
This thing does not connect all the time. I would have to unplug/plug or rest my Bluetooth for it to connect. Not happy with this but better than the previous brand I got on Amazon. Once it connects everything works well. When it doesn't connect it keeps searching and the annoying error keeps popping up on my screen.

Works well and doesn't take up much room
OTTOCAST Mini 2025 Wireless Carplay Adapter & Android Auto Wireless Adapter for Apple iPhone Samsung Android Phone 2-in-1, USB Car Accessories with 5 GHz Wi‑Fi Bluetooth 5.0 Voice Control Plug & Play Worked well, easy to set up, quick pairing each time I turn on the car. Its small and stylish. Honda Passport 2022, S25 Ultra. Issues include when another Bluetooth device is already connected you may have to turn off the device before the Ottocast works. But I think that is more of a Bluetooth issue than an Ottocasy issue. The Ottocast gets a bit warm, I wouldn't say hot, but because I'm paranoid I decided to return it. I recommend this product at less than 50. I know this contradicts me returning the product, but a part of me feels like I was too hasty in returning it.

Excellent Quality
This works very well in my 2020 Kia Sportage. Once in a while I have to unplug it and plug it back in, but I couldn’t be happier.

It's easy to set up although the instructions aren't the greatest.
I'll start by saying that in my 2017 Ford Escape, I have been connecting my phone to the built in blue tooth since I got it. I stream Youtube Music all the time and it works flawlessly. I bought this item because I wanted to be able to use Carplay wirelessly. I like the Google Maps integration when I plugged my phone directly into the USB port in my car, but I didn't want the hassle of having to plug that in all the time. This is great for that use. For streaming music though, it's touch and go. Today I was driving, listening to music and it kept clipping, like there was high latency. When I was trying to skip songs, there was a noticeable delay between pressing the button and the song being skipped. I noticed this particularly just after starting up the car and connecting, almost like a computer or phone lagging after it boots up. Sometimes, however it works fine. It's like the technology inside of this device is outdated, kind of like using an old computer and it takes slightly longer to load things like websites and programs. I've only been using it 1 day so hopefully it'll get better.

Okay, so I’ve been using this OTTOCAST Mini for my car (with Android phone) for a couple of months now, replacing an older wireless adapter. Here’s the real deal based on my daily driving: The good stuff: 1. Connection speed is a Win: Hands down, the biggest improvement for me is how fast it connects. Seriously, I get in, start the car, and by the time I’ve backed out of my driveway, Android Auto is usually up and running on my head unit. My old adapter took longer. This one is noticeably quicker and way less frustrating. Just leave the phone in my pocket when I turn on the engine, 20 -30 seconds later it hooks up. 2. Zero lag in use: Once connected, it’s smooth sailing. Maps update instantly, scrolling through playlists feels responsive, and voice commands kick in without that annoying pause. I haven’t experienced any noticeable delay while using it, which is crucial for navigation and music. 3. Convenience factor: It does exactly what it promises, making Android Auto truly wireless. No more fumbling with cables. That "get in and go" feeling is real, and it works reliably for that 95% of the time. The not-so-perfect bits: 1. It gets warm, keep it breezy is important: Yeah, this little puck definitely generates some heat. It’s not scorching hot, but it’s warm enough that I make sure it’s not buried under stuff or right next to a heat vent. I leave it plugged in where there’s some airflow around it, and that seems to keep things happy. Just something to be aware of for placement. 2. Occasional blips: It’s been solid most days, but I have experienced it completely drop connection maybe two or three times total. Each time, I need to unplug it and reset (without reconfiguring). It wasn’t frequent enough to be a dealbreaker for me, just a minor hiccup. Maybe it was a bad signal spot or phone glitch? Not sure. Overall Verdict: Despite getting a bit toasty and those very rare disconnects, this OTTOCAST Mini is a keeper for me. The fast connection and completely lag-free performance during use are massive upgrades over what I had before. The convenience of true wireless Android Auto is fantastic. As long as you give it a little room to breathe, it’s been a really reliable and practical addition to my car. If your main car supports it (wired Android Auto or Apple Caplay required), it’s a solid pick based on my actual experience. It just works, quickly and smoothly.
