EXCELLENT DANCE CD
This CD has all the great dance tunes frm 70's and 80's,I will be playing it at parties and I'm sure everyone will be up dancing. Two great songs are "Touch & GO" and "Lovetown" both long versions excellent for a dance party. The rest of the songs are good too, can't find these good ol dance tunes anywhere but this CD has them all!!

House Rockers Please enter the Club!!!
If you are or were in my case, a serious house music aficionado, this CD is a must! If you were just a casual listener then don't buy, pick up a Donna Summer album or something to that effect. If you can identify with Womack & Womack, Weather Girls, Brothers Johnson, Roy Ayers, Sylvester, Jocelyn Brown etc. you got the right CD!!! This is not for "percolators", Old School Rockers only!

I would recommend all 3 volumes
I bought Vol. 1-3. I would recommend all 3 volumes! This Vol.2 has small scratch but doesn't interfere with the dance vibe! Only 2 more tracks I would have LOVED to hear in this collection: Back to My Roots (Lamont Dozier) & Stand On The Word (Joubert Singers).

Worth it for the Sylvester track alone!
As another reviewer noted, there is almost too much variety on this CD, ranging from Hi NRG type dance tunes, more traditional Soul and R&B tracks, jazz-inflected tunes, and even a Reggae remix. Nevertheless, most of the material is very strong and holds up under repeated listens all these years later. These songs may have been classified as dance music, but basically they were/are just good tunes with a dance beat. Many of these songs will bring back smiles of recognition for those of us that heard them on the radio or in clubs at the time they came out. Sweet memories indeed! I still can't get enough of hearing songs such as the ones by Womack & Womack, Ecstasy Passion & Pain, MFSB, and Third World. The tracks by Roy Ayers, Cymande, and the Originals are darn good too. But to me, the best thing on here is the final track, a scorching live performance of "Over and Over" by Sylvester. This song is a totally gripping heart-and-soul workout by the late great vocalist. Even listening to it still leaves me breathless. A dance classic for sure.

fantastic
this album is definitely one of the best i have listened to. takes me back to the days of the loft and garage when hanging was definitely a top priority. nice to be able to grab those days of yesteryear when MUSIC WAS MUSIC and serious listeners knew what is was all about. definitely getting the entire collection.

stood the test of time....
First, get all 3 volumes, put 'em on your multi-disc cd player, then let these dancefloor gems do their thaaang... Can be played at a bbq on Memorial Day, July 4, Labour Day, etc... or while you're playing Twister (tangled up in a pretzel position while trying to grab that Bacardi & Coke that's waaaay on the other side of the mat ;) whatever... you get the idea. Your cooler friends will scream and shout when their favorite joints get those memories flooding back.
