Construction Management Fundamentals (McGraw-Hill Series in Civil Engineering)

I recommend this book to all professionals in the construction industry and engineering students. It touches all the aspects of Project Management with concise information and examples. Naturally, expert may wish to have more information on single chapters/subjcts (i.e. Cost Estimates, Scheduling, etc.) but it is not in the scope of this book to give too details but a comprehensive overview of Project Management. I found very useful the following parts: - Cash Flow Analysis, p. 78 (there is a clear example to prepare project cash-flow); - Construction Contract Administration, p. 272; - Every chapter has its own bibliography and list of resources and website that is very useful if you wish to study the in more details the subject described there. I found useless the following parts: - Historical Perspective p. 1. The reading is cool, but irrelevant for Project Management; - Safety p. 520 is too philosophical; - Building Construction Methods p. 475 cover mainly small projects and not mega projects.

I used to be a constrtuction secretary, and now I can understand more about construction. I could not work there anymore, it was too diffic ult, to work, with tall themen, in the crew, but it was still fun, when I started. It was very interestein, I even got to wear a hard hat

I rent this book under amazon rental. I think it is a great service that allows college students like to get textbook for cheap.

I didn't realize I had not left a review for this product. It was a very useful tool when I took my class 5 years ago. Great details and it was altogether a great class and book.

This book is an excellent text for teaching construction management fundamentals. I have used it in both undergraduate and graduate courses and my students have valued its purchase (if not the price of the purchase). It is a good overview publication, reasonably easy to read with a balance between technical and explanatory discussions. The book presents the material logically and the information flows well from one topic to the next.

I needed this book for a class and I used it all throughout the semester. The book was helpful and exactly as expected.

Was fortunate enough to forget to return it so now im stuck with it
