Covers quite a bit, enough to allow readers a great start in investigating this discipline on their own. Would recommend.

I give it five stars because the book gives you tons of info. If you already have a birth chart then it helps you expand on the information giving a better understanding.

the book gets four stars because it is exactly what i was looking for; how to draw up a natal astrology chart. the author provides three ways to do so. his descriptions of the traits of the signs, planets, houses, etc. are a little hokey for my taste, but there are better astrology books out there for interpretation. this book hit the mark in discussing how to make the chart.

Clear concise book . Really great for someone starting out as it is jargon and jungian free . Hewitt uses his own natal chart from the beginning of the book to show what effects houses and signs . I was just looking through this book again the other day to get different ideas on house meanings .It might seem simple but its all here in condesed from .

I picked up this book about 10 years ago. At the time I had about as much knowledge of astrology as you can get from the newspaper i.e. none. It is chock full of information about just about everything. Particularly useful for students starting out is getting familiar with the houses and the signs as they affect factors in your life, not just your overall personality. It does lack some information on nodes but for a beginner's text, that is just fine.I have continued to study and now am an astrologer. I have a considerable library but I still find I use this book for many different reasons. The organization is great and the concise explanations are a godsend. I cannot say enough how glad I am to have bought this book when beginning my studies.

What can I say? It's the absolute best, must have book for ANYONE who has even a slight interest in Astrology. I've been an Astrology enthusiast for over 10 years now and even though my level is more in the intermediate to advanced range, I still find this as an invaluable, handy reference. It perfectly "walks" you through this fascinating, yet complex science in a simple and easy to understand format. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to go beyond those fun, yet very general and vague daily horoscopes you find in the paper. It even includes a mail in offer to get your own chart done! (At least my old copy does, not sure about the new edition)This book will help you understand and interpret your chart to give you an enlightening and informative understanding of yourself.It includes chapters that explain and interpret the meanings of all the twelve houses, the signs and their characteristics, the planets and their rulerships, even meanings to all possible aspects of your natal placements.I really wish I had this book when I first developed an in-depth interest in Astrology. Again, A MUST HAVE FOR ANY ASTROLOGY ENTHUSIAST!!!

I have been interested in astrology for some time but the depth of information needed to even begin is considerable. However in the case of this book, William Hewitt makes it as simple and straight forward as possible. His writing style and honest integrity combine to make something that is easy to absorb and extremely enjoyable to do so; referring the reader back to solid examples and reasons of working and answers. All of the topics in this book are perfectly structured and complement the pace of learning incredibly so.If this is your first time looking into astrology then this book is a must have. On the other hand, if like me you are trying to go further into something you have always wanted to, then this book is a great companion. Logical, practical and well founded are just some words to describe the information inside.

If you're just starting with astrology, buy this book - you won't regret it.It gives good information for beginners - will help you to understand basic principles of astrology, explained in plain and not too much complicated way - it really helps when you're starting (I can tell based on my own experience).If you already have some astrology knowledge and wants to develop it further, you may find the book too simplified or not detailed enough.

Book arrived in time and is in good condition, no problems in the purchase. It is a good basic book well presented and has some very interesting content. Really miss having an index in the back.
