Nice, and easy
Ijust installed this on a metal door using supplied screws. I used a 3/8" bit for the main hole and a 3/32 bit for the screws.Making sure my drill was level (it has a built in bubble) and as close to 90 degrees side to side as I could eyeball I drilled the pilot hole for the main hole all the way through the door from one side, then checked the distance between the edge of the door and the pilot hole on both sides to make sure I was close. I was within an eighth or so - good enough. Then, because these doors are usually hollow/ foam filled and I wanted to be sure it was right, I drilled the main holes out to the full 3/8" from each side (not drilling all the way through from one side). Worked great and there was enough 'slop' to center the shaft and have a little wiggle room if the turn piece or bell wasn't centered perfectly.Using the 3/32 bit for the supplied wood screw holes worked, though I did have to apply some force to get the screws started, and do wonder if I'll have to replace them with the correct screws for metal down the road. However, (right now) the bell works fine and feels secure. It's nice, loud enough for my 1900 sf ranch, and looks great. It would take a better trained eye than mine to notice it wasn't 'authentic'.

It’s so gorgeous!!!!
I love this beautiful antique doorbell. It’s a bit loud but I just love that I get to hear an old doorbell sound. It adds so much charm to our door. People on my social page loved it !!!!!! @vintageandgraceliving

Easy to install. well made
Our house was first deeded in 1847. We have reason to believe that the original structure predates that and when we decided to add a doorbell we wanted something with a vintage look. The added benefit of the twist type doorbell is wiring is not required. I used a 1/4" drill bit for the shaft hole and a 3/32" bit for the attachment screw pilot holes. Take care when tightening the attachment screws as they are brass and will break (This caution is included in the directions). Use a drop or two of machine oil to lubricate the screw threads are you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't have machine oil on hand a drop of liquid soap should work as a substitute.

No doorbell in the box. Just screws business cards & instructions. Very disappointed
I received a bag of brass screws, about 50 business cards, and about 30 paper installation instructions. No doorbell.

Great old world charm
I ordered the bell on Wednesday with an expected delivery date of the following Monday within a few hours I was advised that delivery would be made earlier on Friday, so within 3 days I had this beautiful bell. It was very easy to install and has a robust ringtone. The best part is that there are no wires to connect or batteries to change. In short, it is certainly beautiful, well built, with great old-world charm, practical and it gets the job done.

Nice
Replaced an older one (probably a different brand) that had broken. Works great on our 1910 home.
