## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it leave a residue requiring any particular cleaning before re-applying adhesive?**
A: Yes. You will need to clean the residue off with alcohol prior to installing.

**Q: We need to remove decals from our boat. Is this product safe for the gel coat?**
A: Will not hurt gel coat. However, the product is formulated to dissolve 5200 permanent cement so I don’t know how it affect decals and their removal.

**Q: Does this remove 3M 5200FC?**
A: I used it on the standard 5200 - but I would imagine it would work on fast cure as well. The key is to get some of the DBond in contact and try to pry up whatever you are working on with a screwdriver or pry bar and after getting slight open add more and more DBond - hope this helps you

**Q: I need to remove 3M 5200 from a camper roof. The roof is made from gel coat fiberglass. Will this product hurt the roof?**
A: Used it on my 2003 Sea Ray to remove anchor pulpit. Got it all over the fiberglass. No affect to the fiberglass. After repeated treatment the 5200 did come off.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WELL I’LL BE, IT ACTUALLY DEFEATED 5200
*by D***E on April 14, 2020*

This stuff bailed me out of a jam. I had a transducer board mounted on my transom with 5200 that needed be changed. Since the 5200 didn’t adhere greatly to the plastic board (part of the reason for replacement), I was able to get it off easily WITHOUT this. But I’ll tell ya, ALL the 5200 I used was left on the painted aluminum hull and it was stuck good. I figured some paint damage was inevitable but wanted to get 100% of the 5200 off in the least invasive way imaginable.I sprayed this stuff on the residue, let it sit 3 mins and started at it with a plastic scraper. Started to see it “loosen up”, but it was not an instant process. Instead, it would slowly come off in layers until I was left with almost nothing after 5-6 applications and scrapings. All told, about 30 mins of work. The “almost nothing” I was left with was the hardest to get off. Eventually decided to wet sand with a very fine paper which took care of the rest. Paint damage was minimal which I took as a huge gift after fighting so much with this. A new transducer board is going in the same spot, so I am not concerned with it being pretty. I just needed the 5200 GONE so I could start over with my new board (different plastic type, and 3M VHB taped on)! This is expensive but absolutely works 100% and didn’t harm the paint. Anyone who says it doesn’t either DID IT WRONG or expected it to just wipe the 5200 right off with no effort. Get real! This is your only hope but it takes some work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product!
*by B***1 on December 15, 2018*

Every once in awhile you find a product that works better than expected. This is one of those products. I had a project where I needed to remove 3M 5200 Fast Cure from a 3” ABS pipe that had a thick coating of 5200 covering a 3 “ long portion up to 3/4 of an inch thick. Only the front of the pipe was accessible. I started in the front with a little hole and squirted in some of this product. Five minutes later I came back to find a much larger area was loose. I worked my way to the top exposing more and more till I was at the top. I lifted a little of the 5200 with a screw driver then kept pushing and squinting till I couldn’t do any more. I then moved to the bottom and used the same technique. Suddenly the top, back and bottom came off in one piece! Total time was about 1/2 hour. I was dumbfounded. I cleaned the area with alcohol and then Acetone. I put a new patch in place using 5200 and was done in an hour! I had expected to spend two days on this since most of the 5200 was inaccessible. This stuff is truly amazing. I will be using 5200 more frequently now that I have a method to debond it!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mirical 5200 Debonder
*by J***L on October 28, 2019*

This stuff works. I needed to remove a bow pulpit that was adhered with 5200. The bolts for the bow cleats were also coated in 5200 and frozen in place. It took about 3 hours but I got it removed without damaging the boat. I wish I would have had this when I removed the teak under the winches, blocks, and locks. I used a hammer and 3 inch scraper and still pulled up gel coat and fiberglass. This stuff also makes removal of the remnants of the 5200 easy. Spray it, wait 5 minutes, and scrape...rinse and repeat.
