Backed by lifetime support and a 30-day return policy, the W4 redefines what a multitool can do.

## Description

"The First Multitool That Actually Wrenches For decades, folding multitools have excelled at cutting, gripping, and screwing—but they have always fallen short when it comes to genuine wrenching tasks. The adjustable wrench, one of the most frequently used tools in any workshop or repair kit, has remained conspicuously absent from the compact multitool platform. The NexTool W4 changes that permanently. A Ratchet Mechanism That Redefines Efficiency At the heart of the W4 lies a fully integrated adjustable ratchet wrench—a feat of mechanical engineering that has never before been accomplished in a folding tool format. The ratcheting gear system enables continuous, back-and-forth wrenching motion without the need to lift and reposition the wrench after each turn. This translates to significantly faster bolt and nut adjustments, particularly in tight spaces where a full swing arc is impossible. Whether you are tightening saddle bolts on a bicycle, loosening corroded nuts on a trailer hitch, or performing emergency repairs on camping equipment, the W4 delivers the mechanical advantage of a dedicated wrench with the portability of a multitool. Professional-Grade Cutting and Sawing Capability Beyond its revolutionary wrench mechanism, the W4 is equipped with a premium 8Cr14Mov stainless steel drop-point blade. Heat-treated to a precise 57-59 HRC hardness, this blade holds a razor edge through repeated cutting tasks—from rope and webbing to food preparation and general utility cutting. The integrated saw blade, featuring aggressive tooth geometry, handles wood, PVC pipe, and soft metals with surprising efficiency. Both the knife and the saw are secured by independent liner locks that engage with a positive click, ensuring blade stability during aggressive cutting strokes. This dual-lock configuration provides the safety and confidence required for heavy-duty field work. Ingenious Storage: Concealed Bit Driver System One of the W4's most cleverly executed features is its hidden dual-head bit driver storage compartment. Integrated flush into the handle frame, this compartment securely houses two double-ended screwdriver bits (Phillips #2 and flathead 3/16""), covering the vast majority of common screwdriving needs. The magnetic retention system holds bits firmly in place during tool operation yet allows for effortless, tool-free swapping when you need to change between bit types. This concealed approach maintains the W4's streamlined silhouette—no protruding bit holders or bulky attachments to catch on pockets or gear bags. Built for the Work, Not Just the Pocket At 11 ounces, the W4 is deliberately heavier than typical keychain multitools—and that is by design. This weight provides the necessary mass and leverage for genuine wrenching tasks, where lightweight tools would flex or fail under torque. The 30Cr13 stainless steel frame components offer exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, while the ergonomically contoured handle ensures comfortable grip even during extended wrenching or sawing sessions. The included nylon pouch provides secure storage and belt-loop carry, ensuring the W4 is always within reach when heavy-duty tasks arise. The NexTool W4 is not a replacement for your everyday keychain tool—it is a complement to it. For those moments when compact scissors and small pliers are insufficient, the W4 steps in with professional-grade wrenching, cutting, and sawing capability. It is the heavy-duty companion for serious DIYers, outdoor enthusiasts, tradespeople, and anyone who has ever wished their multitool could actually turn a bolt. Backed by NexTool's quality commitment and 30-day satisfaction guarantee, the W4 is engineered to perform when performance matters most."

Review: Everything I need at work nothing I don’t. Basic but brawny. - So I first saw this on YouTube from max level EDC and I knew pretty much right away I was going to get one of these. At my job in a ribbon factory, there are quite a few times where I need a wrench, believe it or not, mostly to remove guards during cleanup operations, or to adjust the nip pressure rollers. Now I also need a knife sometimes to open packages or cut plastic off of pallets or just other everyday tasks that you would require a general-purpose knife for, and it’s nice to also have a bit driver for when I have to remove other screws or more often tighten things in order to ensure the machine runs properly. The holster that this comes with is absolute trash, but I’ve had my leather EDC waste pouch that used to hold my Leatherman that I have since replaced with this wonderful tool. The pouch that I have is open-topped so it just slides right in there. It does sit a little higher off the top of my waist, but not enough that it impedes me from carrying it. I don’t really need a small pair of scissors on this tool as my main tool I use every day is a pair of scissors, full-size, used for cutting ribbon. That also sits in the little pouch, and then I also have my flashlight. I found myself using this pretty much every day. The wrench part itself works very well. The screw mechanism works flawlessly. It has not gotten hung up; the wrench itself stays in the position I put it in quite well. I haven’t really encountered any slippage. The ratcheting feature, honestly I haven’t used it as I would pretty much need to use it on a much larger bolt to really get any kind of leverage out of it. But it’s a nice little feature to have if you need it. The only tool I don’t use Often is the file, simply because I don’t really have a use for it, but it’s nice to have it there in case. The fold-out needle nose pliers are awesome. We frequently have times where Ribbon wraps up, and it’s nice to have the needle nose to be able to grab a hold of it in order to leverage it either to pull it out or just to give you enough space to where you can cut it. Also, it’s still nice to have the needle nose for smaller, detailed work such as fixing our ancient sewing machines. The fact that I can fold all that up into one tool that is also very comfortable to handle is quite nice. The spring-loaded nature of the pliers is take it or leave it for me. I’ve had a multitool with both. It is nice to have, but it’s not a necessity. I think the cost of this is very reasonable. I mean, you basically get a bit driver with bits to a set of pliers, a wrench, a knife, all wrapped in one convenient, easy-to-use package. Now, I would not say that this is going to replace dedicated tools for hard-use tasks, but just for everyday general repair work or mechanical work, this is an absolutely fantastic tool. Now, the blade steel is nothing to write home about. It’s 8 CR, but for just normal everyday things like I said, cutting packages open or cutting plastic, It works just fine, and it’s going to be very easy to sharpen back. But 8CR is also very tough, so I don’t think anyone would have any major problems. I carry a folding pocket knife, anyways If I require something a bit more aggressive, but even using the knife, using any of the tools really feels wonderful. In fact they really did an excellent job on making this version very comfortable and user-friendly, so I will probably buy more of these since they seem to sell like hotcakes on here.
Review: A great addition for the Multi-tool afficionado. - *Update* April 2026 - I’ve had this tool about 10 mos. Not a pro but have been using it weekly for home projects and repairs. It’s been bounced around a tool bag, inadvertently dropped and kicked, etc. The usual rigors that hand tools can be subjected to. It is just as good as day one. I feel the household name multitool company (letter L) seems to be mostly offering ever more expensive iterations of existing designs and special colors. Big Yawn, and no interest in buying a $200 dollar plus multitool. That’s way more than a working person wants to spend. I believe the Chinese makers like Nextool are taking chances and innovating. They may soon catch up and overtake the original innovator. I don’t have a strong position on this topic, but want a good tool at a good price. This checks a lot of boxes for me and updating to 5 stars. Very useful tool and overall has a tight and solid feel. I am not a professional, but this is a great addition to my kit and goes in the center of my truck console when I travel. A tad heavy for EDC on your person. Knowing I have this small adj wrench with me in addition to a conventional multitool and locking knife is a little extra security traveling, camping, fishing should I have any minor repair to attempt. I've been getting more impressed with other makers of multitools besides the 'household name' company. I find that Nextool and others are taking more chances and trying to do more innovative stuff. One might not additionally see the bit driver or storage when first picking this up. I find this tool makes really ingenious use of its space. Additionally, the liner lock blade locks up tight and secure. Long term we will see how this holds up. The plastic shrouds on the outside of the tool add some grip. Could see them taking a beating but they seem like quality abs. It has a lot of parts and places where dirt could potentially trap, so recommend carrying in its sheath. Overall, I like this a lot. For my needs, I don't think the racheting mechanism on the wrench was a real necessity and probably would've appreciated a ratchet more on the bit driver. But it does give some more purchase in tight spots. I did initially have a concern with the pliers, and the Nextool team reached out to me and rectified the issue lightning quick. I must applaud their customer service for responsiveness and support. I will definitely consider more products from Nextool.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good tool
*by A***R on 20 July 2025*

Update: Nextool reached out to me and replaced the entire tool for free. It took a little while to get into contact but once they did they did great and got my particular issue resolved quickly. This thing worked great until it didn't. The jaw for the crescent wrench broke off loosening a bolt. I tried reaching out twice to the manufacturer to no response. The tool itself is nice and useful. The customer service not so much so I have to resort to leaving feedback on Amazon.
