Will this work for cigarette smoke in a garage?

The only thing to stop cigarette smokr in a garage is a NO smoking sign

Not sure about that. But it is a very strong and reliable fan. I’ve been using mine for about 4 years now and no issues except the housing wasn’t sealed properly. But a strip of duct tape fixed that easily.

So I didn’t get a fan speed controller it say one is provided?

Mine has one. It’s a box with the outlet prongs on it. The plug. Check it for leaks around the fan housing. Mine leaks really bad. I had to tape it up. And it’s rattles loudly too. I’d say return it honestly. Terrible product. Try AC infinity fans instead.
