Horror MASTERPIECE 10/10 + Metal case = must have!!
I love this movie, I knew I had to buy the DVD before I even left the theater on opening day. When I saw this Metal Collectors edition here on Amazon I immediately bought it. Top reasons to buy this DVD are; the cool metal case, alternative commentary audio track, in depth production and behind the scenes videos, and digital copy so you can download it to your device. Had to have it for my collection cuz I want to watch it again and again. If they had more special feature videos, I would watch every single minute. The movie special effects are some of the best I've ever seen, hard to know what's practical and what's digital FX, they absolutely nailed this movie. The DVD picture is perfect, absolutely stunning. It was as great watching it on my 75in TV as it was on the 75 ft big screen. SPOILERS I know this is about horrible deaths, but they still make it so fun and quite funny too, they know how to build tension and make you squirm... most people were grossed out, ooing and ohhing in the theater, but I couldn't help it I was giggling a lot and smiling almost the entire time (this movie IS fictional and made as entertainment) rooting for the people to beat Death unsure what will happen. The death scenes are just as creative as ever, some of the best yet including the MRI machine and the trash truck. Nothing felt stale or repeated, I couldn't wait for the story to unfold I was captivated. I love the actors and the characters they created... it's just a horror masterpiece what can I say. Everyone involved with making this movie put their heart into it and it shows, they did it for us, the fans. This one takes the story to another level, and shows. SUPER SPOILER This is the ICONIC Tony Todd's final movie, he's gravely ill and you know it. His final lines aren't script they're straight from his heart. This part is difficult to write, because it's sad but also very touching. As sick as he was he insisted on being in this, it's an eternal lasting memory to a great performer I love. 10 for 10, a perfect horror movie. Will this be the final destination?

Solid entry in a sturdy franchise!
A family finds out that, due to actions taken by an ancestor, they are all being stalked by Death itself. The gimmick is, the grim reaper is following his own rules by working through the family tree by parentage and date of birth. Who knew the Fourth Horseman was do detail oriented? If I believed in guilty pleasures, this franchise would top the list. I’ve binged the previous entries at least a half dozen times (except 4 which is crap), consuming them like salted peanuts. This latest one, coming fifteen years after the last sequel, is top form for the series. Loads of surprises thanks to the patented Rube Goldberg death scenes that are the whole reason for watching these. They are all goodies and crank up the tension even as viewers are invited to guess how each victim will be done in. I told my wife the premise before she went off to do other things. But she came back to ask me if I was watching a different movie because I was laughing so much. These movies feature that brand of Gahan Wilson gallows humor. The cast is fully in the same groove, snarky and hysterical, and we root for the ones we want to see survive. Or, more accurately, which of them will die last and how many times can they jink the rules to escape their fate. For a franchise built on a rejected pitch for The X-Files, this one has done all right and I look forward to the next one.
