I've used rust reformer for a long time and is really great. What is the diferance about rust reformer automotive?

Pretty sure the only difference is the spray nozzle. This one comes with the white "spray at any angle" nozzle, considering you'd likely be spraying it on the underbody. The other can (with the chair graphic) uses the conventional red nozzle. These can't be swapped easily either, as the conventional nozzle is all one piece into the can, whereas the white one is assembled on a separate stem that goes into the can. Of course, if you have a decent 3d printer or are crafty with a rotary tool, you can manage to make an adapter to use the white nozzle on any can.

which works better spray or paint on

It depends on what you are painting...and whether you can keep a light and steady hand for spraying. Also, you need an area to work that you don’t have to worry too much about overspray. With a brush you can get stroke lines, especially if you have broad surfaces. Most of the time I prefer to spray, as it ends up looking smooth.

Would this work for removing very rusty license plate screws from a car?

No it is a paint that works well to paint over rust that has been sanded removing lose rust. Use WD40 to remove rusty screws.

I'm confused... the description here and on the manufacturer's site make it sound like an aerosol spray. Is it? I need to use a brush.
