Unit works great to shave ice. I have several items made by this company and this one is just a good as the others I have. Easy for kids to use and makes a lot of shaved ice. I know we will use for a long time. Recommend getting this especially for long hot summer days.

This machine works just how you want it to. Not complicated. Easy to disassemble and put back together. I find myself using it way more than expected. Eating1 cup of shaved ice at night keeps me from snacking.

My 12 year old wanted a snow cone machine. We got this one because I'm a fan of Dash products in general. The machine met my expectations in terms of ice shaving. The shavings are more like sleet than snow, but I knew that before getting it. The devise is easy and safe enough for my tween. I like that the ice is pushed around and there is no spinning blade. My one complaint is about the ice guard. The ice guard is really just a splash guard, and feels like an after thought in design. It mostly keeps the ice shavings directed down toward your container, instead of spraying all over the place. It's kind of clumsy to take on and off, and I wish the container and guard were designed as a single unit. In the 2 months that we have owned this product, and the handful of times it's been use, the guard has been lost twice. The first time was during the unboxing. My kiddo unboxed it, and I thought it didn't come with the guard. I contacted DASH about it, and they said that this is not a component they can send out. I later found the guard, but now it has gone missing again. I believe a certain family member may have thrown it away, not knowing what it was. I hoping it will still turn-up, since I can't replace that piece. Until then, little ice shavings will just collect in more places than the bowl.

Thing works great. Simple, convenient, easy and gets the job done. I had one for years, pulled it out of storage for my Gfs kids? It worked great, they loved it so much I ordered them their own. Now they have party level excitement on school nights if they get their stuff done on time.

Okay so, first off, I will admit right up front that I hate the cutsey colors this thing comes in. But, that being said, I am also grudgingly impressed. I mean, it's an ice shaver. It shaves ice so.... what more can be said about that? Lol. Still, this little thing is a lot better than I expected it to be. First off, it's quieter than others I've had in years past. Is it whisper quiet? HECK NO!!!! I mean, it grinds ice against a piece of metal OF COURSE IT'S NOT QUIET!!!! lol. Still, the motor itself isn't nearly as loud as others I have had. I also have found that I really like this form factor over others. Shove a cup or bowl under the outlet, drop some ice in, twist the cap and you can go and get the syrups while it does it's thing. With some others I found myself having to hover so I could turn the container in order to ensure that it wouldn't just pile up all on one side. That isn't to say that it falls dead even of course-- I just find that the shavings having to drop that tiny amount of distance as well as the fact that you can put the container of your choice down so that the blade is closer to the center just makes it come out a little more even then other form factors. Finally, any parts that the ice touchs CAN ACTUALLY BE CLEANED!!!!!!!!! I have NEVER understood why some shavers make cleaning some parts almost impossible but this one comes almost completely apart so you can just drop it into a sink of hot and soapy water-- much more hygienic imho. After all, wet items can grow things we really don't want and can't even see. I will say that while I like the fact that the bade can be broken down so that it can fit into more places for storage but, it does kind of mean that I have picked it up in order to move it without thinking and foundmyself with only half the base a couple of times. That is NOT the fault of the unit though. After all, I can't be happy about it being able to break it down into pieces easily and then be mad at it for MY forgetting the fact that it easily breaks down into pieces. Lol. Anyway, it's a good little unit (cutsey color not withstanding) and much better than I expected it to be when I first hit the buy button.

Cute and easy to use without referencing the manual. Shave ice is a little larger than desired but will work for cocktails. Item came with a few plastic pieces broken off. Don’t have time to reorder, replace or return so thankfully those broken pieces won’t stop us from making it work for our needs.

My three boys and I use this shaved ice machine DAILY. It can handle three fine, with the motorized parts just getting warm to the touch. After #4, though, it gets hot, and I wouldn't trust it for five or more of them at one time. That being said, what the machine spits out rivals our local shaved ice truck, and it has been a godsend for us during these back-to-back heatwaves in NorCal. I got different flavors of syrup to put on them, a much better selection than what's normally available on the truck. I would heartily recommend this shaved ice machine, it's a great bang for the buck, so to speak--but if you accidentally drop and break the lid, you're kind of screwed. The lid part still twists on and sort of locks, but the triangle part that pushes the lever in to actually start the machine, broke off. So now I have to hold the hanky lid with one hand and use a toothpick in the other, to push the lever in, because the Dash company says they don't sell replacement kids. AKA, to get a working life for my machine, I have to buy another whole machine. That sucks. So I'll keep on using the toothpick method, and warn everyone who buys one of these to be extra careful to not break the lid!

Super cute! Had so much fun making snow cones by the pool with my gbabies! Durable and easy to use!

Easy to clean, good for small kitchen. However, It was hard for me to figure out why it’s wasn’t shaving at first, since there’s 2 wholes that you can shoot the ice cubes (yes! You can only use ice cube, which is one downfall for me as I make my own small ice blocks then just crushed to different sizes and shapes). Also, ice is coming out to the farthest front of the whole so you need to adjust the bowl or cup. It’s a bit pricey too.. In summer it’s still duable for house use.
