This lil sweety is the ticket

I was nervous about the cost of this item at first. But I was having issues getting the longer ends of my auger thru to where it needed to be and this thing is small but very thick well made, sharp, and worked like a charm for me. Worth every penny.

Works well

Does a great job of plowing through the stoppage. 1000% better than the spring end and much better than the other attachments.

Grease Cutter

Works well for grease buildup.

Worth the money!!

I gave this a try because of another review by a person that has to clear clogs from cast iron pipes every so often.I was about to give up and call a plumber for this season’s slow pipes. This thing busted through the slow spot with barely any resistance. This is SO MUCH BETTER than the attachments that came with my $300 50ft gadget I got from HD.Totally worth the money!!

This is a real game changer

This is a pipe auger/snake attachment for clearing drains.I bit the bullet and bought powered drain auger earlier this year from Amazon which came with several bits but I still had some problems. I’m very pleased with the auger and will leave a review for it later but this bit was a real game changer.I hated putting out the money for this as it seemed expensive at the time, but once you get the knack of using the power auger and this bit, life will be a lot easier. The bit is a heavy steel, a bit larger than a golf ball and the groves and points in and on it are sharp. It's not sharp enough to cut you but sharp enough to catch on a stubborn root or other obstruction. It made passing through bends and turns in the pipe a lot easier, too. This may not be the only auger bit you’ll ever need but it surely will come close. It depends on the state of your pipes, but if you have to clean out roots every 18 months or so, it’ll pay for its self the first time you use it.

Cuts the "stuff" UPDATE

I'm a homeowner who occasionally needs to snake out a 30-foot section of line. The cheap bits that came with my basic auger worked okay, but tend to bind if they hit a rough spot. The heavy, nicely-machined General Pipe Cleaners 1-1/2 inch ClogChopper is a big step up. The rounded shape glides though turns but the edges and front are razor sharp. They slice though muck like a champ without harming the pipes and the deep side grooves allow "stuff" to flow past. Someone put some real thought into this design. The diameter is 1-1/4 inches, which fits my 1-1/2 inch clean out line nicely. I'm giving the bad boy five stars.UPDATE: I compared the Clogchopper to a normal bit and it rocks. The normal bit binds at one section of pipe, but the Clogchopper just whizzed though like it wasn't there. The line snake fed more smoothly, too. You NEED this!

Closer to 1 1/4 inch diameter; did not perform the task for which I purchased it.

This is not the 1 1/2 inch diameter specified; rather, it is closer to 1 1/4 inch diameter. I assume it is undersized to make it around corners, etc. I needed something exactly 1 1/2 inch diameter to clean out a drain pipe, so this thing was unable to perform the task for which I purchased it; and was thus a waste of money. I ended up, believe it or not, using a 1 1/2 inch hole saw on an extension to clean out the pipe, which worked quite well. For me, this thing was a waste of money. However, I kept it anyway because I now have it, and someday I could need it for my drain snake to solve a drain backup. I do have a concern regarding the weld on the tab; I hope the weld does not break and thus drop the ball in the drain pipe, because that would obviously be horrible. While a waste of money now, I give it 3 stars because it could be handy at some future time to solve a drain backup.

Changed my life! 10 stars!!!

The media could not be loaded.  I have the worst cast iron pipe situation. My drain has been clogged for over a month. I bought a $300 snake, didn’t work. I bought another $100 handheld drill powered auger, also didn’t work. I bought a camera for the pipe, but couldn’t get it down far enough to where the clog was. I tried every chemical/enzyme you could imagine, for days and days, also didn’t work. I’ve been beat up. I don’t trust plumbers. One plumber wanted over $500 to come snake and camera the drain. I had already spent as much on all of the above. This has been eating me up inside. I know a repipe job is probably inevitable, but I’m not financially prepared for that. I’ve been so depressed. Can’t use my sink, so I don’t eat right, and wasting too much time trying all different kinds of things. This heavy duty auger bit just arrived an hour ago. I hooked it up to my $300 1/2” 100ft. snake and PRESTO!!! Took a little work near where the clog was. I was patient though. Just kept spinning. Let it get through that clog. Suddenly the snake went further in than I had ever gotten it before. Had it passed the clog? I pulled out the snake and the bit was covered in gunk. I poured a 5 gallon bucket into the sink. SUCCESS!! Another 5 gallons. SUCCESS! Another 5! SUCCESS! I think I’m gonna cry right now. This bit changed my life.PS: if you live in the vegas area, I’ll snake your drain for $200. Just kidding. I hope my snaking days are behind me for a while. I’m praying for you right now though. These situations suck!!!!! People take their flowing drains for granted.
