What Is Climate Change? (What Was?) [Herman, Gail, Who HQ, Hinderliter, John] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. What Is Climate Change? (What Was?) Review: Such a great book for kids (and adults!) - Great book! Very informative and accurate. Review: The Age of Humans - This complex and critical subject is presented in this book in a manageable format. As one who taught Global Warming decades before it was politically correct, I try to incorporate this book with all my middle school students that I tutor. I even use it with high school students who are not quite grade level because it does not insult them but answers many of their questions at their mostly independent level.

The Age of Humans
This complex and critical subject is presented in this book in a manageable format. As one who taught Global Warming decades before it was politically correct, I try to incorporate this book with all my middle school students that I tutor. I even use it with high school students who are not quite grade level because it does not insult them but answers many of their questions at their mostly independent level.

Put into terms a child (and many adults) can understand
Bought this for my 6 year old grandson, who is required to read 20 minutes per day as the daily homework assignment. He usually races thru the job, but he started slowing down, asking questions and paying close attention to the pictures. He picked this book daily for his homework, and soon he filled the 20 minutes with online reading. It was a win-win deal. Now he wants to start on the Ice Age book! Will be getting more of these books...

Great series!
This series is great nonfiction for elementary kids, but entertaining enough that I love to read them along with my kids. The climate change book is excellent and as usual with this series, I actually learned a lot, myself!

This is a perfect primer for all the little Greta Thurbers in your house. Sad, detailed tales of polar bears stand in for a definition of climate (polar bear populations are exploding). Opposition to the alarmist view is characterized as self-serving and political. Without proof or discussion, "clean" alternatives" are assumed to play a detectable influence on climate. Advocates of such "solutions" are assumed to act out of disinterested concern for humanity. Windmills and solar cells are, after all, totally free. In all this, "climate" is never defined except that something to be feared. And it's all our fault. For anyone over 8, it's a very poor introduction to the subject.

A great book to share with my class within our project on the environment and climate change. Well written and explains things clearly.
