Excellent shorts at an excellent price
Have been looking for running shorts that have a zippered pocket that is easy to open, a normal inseam, are comfortable and are not wildly expensive.First, the price. I don't buy a lot of shorts or go through a lot of shorts and they last for at least a couple of years. Even though when you figure out the price per year, I will not spend $50-$100 on a pair of shorts I see in a running magazine. Around $17 for a pair of shorts? Check.I like a short that ends above the knee but is not super short. Check.Have only worn them a few times but have gone on runs of around 4 to 7 miles and there was no chafing, bunching, slipping and so on. Check.I like a zippered pocket because sometimes I have some money or even a check I need to drop somewhere and I want to make sure it does not get lost. I don't want something like a SPIbelt, because I also run with my dog and have him tethered to me. I also wear gloves while running about 50 percent of the time so the zipper needs to be easy to manipulate. The zippers are smooth and have easy to grab pulls that work when I wear gloves. I was looking for shorts with a single zippered pocket. These shorts have three. Check. One of the zippered pockets is directly in the back. I have experimented with putting my phone in it and it works just fine. My Galaxy 7 with an OtterBox cover slips in at an angle and just sits there throughout the run. It doesn't bounce around and is easy to get out if need be.At present, the only complaint I have is that while there is a reflective element on the front of the shorts, it would be nice if there was a reflective element on the back also or in the stitching.

Quality shorts for a very reasonable price. Sizing is spot on.
Update: My favorite short, period. I've run (3-6 miles) several times, even wore them a couple times without washing in between, and they are great shorts. When you're just walking around the legs are kinda small, but when I'm running I never noticed them. Very durable. Again, the pockets are great. I can carry my phone, car keys, MP3 player (yes, I'm that old). I like that the zipper 'locks' down, really secure, and very comfortable. I'm really trying to justify buying more colors.... but there just isn't a need. I've got two pair and they are great. I'm a real cheap-skate, and completely happy with these.Very well made shorts. Three great pockets. I really like the center back pocket! For 7.5 inch shorts they seem a little long (or I'm used to wearing short shorts, which could be true. I do love 'ranger panties' much to my kids' chagrin. ) I do wish the legs with a little looser (still haven't run in them, and I've always had kind of big thigh....No, not like my mom! I do not have my mom's thighs!!!)Very well crafted, solid workmanship with what feels like quality material. Spot on sizing, with a little generous caboose in the lining. But who doesn't like a little extra trunk room? Hm?This is my 3rd Time to Run purchase and I've always been impressed by the quality and durability of their products. I'm probably a customer for like. Oh, and I run the snot out of shorts. Anywhere from 10 to 40 miles a week. I've worn the crotch/upper thighs out of several (good brand) shorts.... NO, it's not because I have my mom's thighs!!!

Better than others I ordered.
I would not recommend them for running - hence I returned them. However I think these could be good Training/Gym shorts. Material is not great, slightly abrasive to the touch, however cut and pocket design isg good (not for large phones but at least not made of huge swaths of non breathable material). If manufacturer reads this - I suggest you make rear pocket to fit just a credit card or banknotes, not a whole wallet.Size wise, I ordered large, normally wear 32 and they were ok to slightly tight.

Fit is tricky - Buyer Beware!
Frankly, this is my fault. Buying clothes is always tricky, fit wise. I should know to check the item carefully before ordering to insure they have a prepaid (free) return policy. I get (or got) lulled into not noticing because so many items are easy and free to return. In this particular case, they don't fit right, another size won't work, and returning them is 1/3 the cost of the item ($6/$18).

Great running / workout shorts for any budget!
As usual time to run’s clothing is exceptional. It’s been a few years since I picked up a new pair of running shorts and was not disappointed. The zipper pockets are perfect. Also there are zero motion restrictions. I ordered the medium and I am a 33 ish waist and they fit perfect. I still have many ttr shorts and shirts that have held up very well over the years, so I hope this do as well and based off the construction it appears they will be the same.

About as good as long shorts can be.
Long shorts aren't for fast runners and the fashion can't die fast enough for me. But they're not so bad.Pro: lightweight, no interference in stride or chafing, don't flop around too much. No comments from rude kids. Real stitched pockets, overall good design and manufacture.Con: front pockets unnecessary, deep rear pocket clearly designed for phone. Nothing says "jogger" more than running with a phone. Bottom of pocket reaches top of butt crack, where smaller objects like keys settle.

Best general running short!
I have been a year-round runner since 1974 and a former competitive runner (Brooks and Nike). These shorts hit the perfect combination of light weight, comfort, and practicality for day-to-day running and exercise. I've used them on long runs, trails, and even races (admittedly now in my geriatric years) and they simply function! The price is excellent and the quality exceptional.

Very comfy on long runs & 3 zipper pockets
The material is breathable but not clingy and potentially revealing. No chafing during 12- mile run, and the 3 zipper pockets are very welcome! No losing your car key or ID on a bumpy trail run!

Great Shorts. You can’t go wrong with these.
I really really like these. Great quality shorts. Well made, good stitching throughout. Good fit allowing full movement so feel great when running. The inner is thin, soft, stretchy jersey so comfy on long runs. The pockets are great; good zips with easy grip tabs. You can fit a smartphone into the back pocket and keys in a side pocket. Perfecto. Worth mentioning (but no problem) that in my experience these come up a bit big. I’m in between two sizes of most things and the lower of those two sizes in these shorts fitted me well. Also worth mentioning that TTR do a number of different short types; from these versatile all rounders to ultra short-shorts that are favoured by the pro long distance guys.

Excellent product and value
I bought these for my husband, who likes decent running shorts but has struggled to find ones with both a liner and decent pockets to carry things on longer runs away from home etc. He has told me these are excellent! Just what he needed, good quality, features and fit. He said he would and will definitely buy these again as about half the price of the other ones he's bought in mainstream stores before. Brilliant value. Totally recommend.

Could be better
Ordered an XL as sizes showed to come up small. I am usually a L. The actual outer shorts themselves are bigger than I would like but the inner lining is too small for me I feel. They are lightweight however and easy to wash, so not all bad. Decent enough value for money, for what I have paid.Shorts also ride up the inner groin and extremely irritating to wear any underwear/compression underneath. I went commando for the run and got extreme chafing.. not sure I can wear them for a week or so until I am healed up. would return but I have used them and washed them, thrown away packaging already and need something for my upcoming training schedule.Pocket at back could also be more secure as my phone giggles up and down too much and I will re stitch this myself to rectify

Great value and loads of storage.
Bought these shorts as I wanted some which had zipped pockets and side and rear pocket large enough for phone. Difficult to find suitable ones until I saw these. Fitted the bill totally. They are extremely good value if you like running trails and need to carry items eg phone, key, cash and gels.

Quality shorts.
I’ve used these shorts for the last month now, they are exactly what I wanted. The rear pocket is perfect size for a phone and keys and feels secure and doesn’t bounce around when I run. Decent length and size was spot on. Shorts where just what I was looking for and for a good price. I will definitely be buying another pair soon.

Good design, good value, very comfortable and practical.
I have a pair of these myself and love them so when my wife wanted some shorts for the treadmill I recommended these, and she's very happy with them. You should sell them as unisex, they work and fit well for women too, and most women's shorts are horrible impractical lycra things with naff pink bits on them. Not all women like that sort of thing. Best running shorts we've ever had.

Great shorts with three big zipped pockets.
I've just used these shorts for the first time. I was looking for shorts with pockets to carry a phone and house keys for parkrun. These shorts are fantastic, three zipped pockets, two at the side and one at the back. All big enough to take my phone. The front tie to keep the shorts tight is also good. The length of the shorts are good. I would buy the same again, if I need more running shorts.

Great pockets!
I love these shorts, so I bought a second pair! The zip pockets are great for a phone and keys while running, if you don't mind them jangling about (I don't really notice). There is a single rear zip pocket which will also take a phone but I've found I can use this comfortably for a water bottle, avoiding the need for a running belt or carry bottle. The shorts fit great, the inner lining is slightly tighter than I'd want but I don't notice once they're on

Nice running short, 3 large pockets
This shirt does not deceive from the description. It's comfortable, sober yet classy and the cut is quite large around the thighs. It's just that I was not expecting the pockets to be 'so' large.I guess they're great for trail runners who need to carry gels and small tools in addition to their keys and phone during their long runs. For me, I don't need that much space.I wish the short would have an inner pocket just to tuck in the phone, it would stay in place rather than wobble in the pocket.

Comfortable, Well Made
Good shorts, well made. Quite snug fitting on legs but soft and stretchy material. Three zipped pockets is a welcome feature for Parkrunners.

Great clothing range
My first purchase of Time to Run clothing was in 2008 and I still have the gear I bought. Their range is one of the best sport clothing I have purchased and can highly recommend. The shorts are comfortable with side and rear zipped pockets and on a run I have had no issues. 5 stars!

Decent shorts.
Great shorts with great zip pockets. I had to cut the liner as it was so uncomfortable. Even with the liner cut these are decent shorts and I would buy again.Another good product by Time to Run

Really good quality
Product came when stated. This is the second time I’ve bought these shorts. I like them and within the zipped pockets it means you do not need an armband for your music device

Excellent, well-designed
Clearly designed by runners - really thoughtful touches. The zipped side pockets are thoughtful; the zipped wide rear pocket pure genius: perfect for smart phones and positioned where movement and vibration aren't great issues.
