Kikkerland Keeps on Kicking
WORKING: They keep reasonable time. They look as good as their photo, but the moving gears in real life add to their attraction. Big batteries (D cells) give you a couple of years between battery changes. LIFESPAN: This is my second one. They last about 20 years before motor failure.

Cool Clock
This is a neat design for a clock, and one that makes the time very easy to read as well. I didn't have the problems setting up the clock that some other reviewers here describe. I just inserted a single AA battery in the base, adjusted the time using the setting knob down there, and I was in business. A rotating dial peaking through a window on the top of the clock shows the seconds ticking away, while minutes are indicated above hours by the red line down the side. The top and the bottom of the clock are metal, while the clear surfaces are plastic. A clever and handsome design that keeps good time -- what's not to like?

If you like gears you'll love this clock
If your idea of a clock has a digital LCD display and sets itself from a radio signal you probably will not like this clock. If you like gears that go 'round and 'round you'll love it. It keeps perfect time for several months on a couple of D cells. Its got lots of gears. I'm not sure all of them are strictly necessary but they all turn at different speeds and result is a dynamic sculpture a local clock repair shop described as "a really cool clock." The big gear right behind the hands is the second hand. It always makes me think of something the old Soviet Union might have built. I bought one of these several years ago and it worked perfectly until it was accidentally knocked off its shelf and damaged beyond repair. I looked for a replacement for many months and was about to give up before I found this source. It appears identical to my old one. Like the old one it keeps perfect time. Workmanship is typical Chinese plastic. In a very quiet room, if you stand within a couple of feet, you can hear a faint clatter of plastic gears. It's not a silent LCD but it's not noisy. It's designed to sit on a shelf. There doesn't seem to be any way to hang it from a wall.

Cheap, but not inexpensive, clock-like thing
This clock looks cool, no doubt about it. And, depending on your style, it could really be a nice accent piece as well. But the sad truth is it's a hunk of junk. I can forgive it's cheap, flimsy, plastic construction, even at it's relatively steep price. But what I cannot forgive is a clock that, less than 60 days from purchase, stops doing the one thing it's intended to do: tell time. At first I thought the problem was the single AA battery installed in the bottom of the clock. The contacts were loose and the battery never fit securely into its designated slot. I solved that issue and the clock began keeping time again. There's a little "second hand" disc on top of the clock (not visible in any of the photos, or when looking at the clock straight on - this is also a design flaw, as the hand can't be seen if the clock is placed on a shelf at or above eye-level). Once that started spinning again, I knew the battery was properly installed. That, and the loud audible "tick" the hand moves once every second told me the clock was getting power. Nonetheless, a few hours later, the clock stopped telling time. It wasn't slow - it actually stopped telling the time all together. This time, the problem wasn't the battery: The seconds disc was spinning and the omnipresent tick was still audible. Yet, the clock refused to turn on its axis and tell the time. I went to obtain a refund from Amazon, but was informed that the return period had expired, so now I'm stuck with a very attractive, but virtually useless, clock-like thing.

Nice buy for a nonstandard clock
I needed a desk clock and thought this one looked interesting. After reading the three reviews and poking around on the web some, I went for it. It's heavier than it looks, and feels pretty solid. I find it easy to read, and kind of a neat way of quantifying the day. I give four stars because initially the 'second wheel' which actually drives the whole clock, was loosened during shipping. If you put in the battery and the wheel doesn't turn or the clock stops after a couple hours, you just have to open it up and tap the second wheel on the top down a bit to get it seated. To open it up, turn the top metal cover. This will press in the plastic clips that hold it on. Around 45 degrees is sufficient; you'll feel it loosen. Work it a little as you pull upwards. You can now adjust the minute cone if you wish, and lightly press down the wheel. To replace the top, align the clips with their holes. Seat one side down and the top will be at an angle. Press in the opposite clip gently with a screwdriver or some other object so you don't pinch yourself, and simultaneously press the lid back down. It should seat tightly once again.

Most intriguing clock ever
I have two of them, one in my living room and one in my office. They are handsome, the batteries last forever, and IMO they're as accurate as my iPhone. I'm gifting a friend one for his birthday.

Perfect
My second one. Almost everyone compliments my other one, this will become a surprise gift for someone. These eat two d cell batteries about every four months.

It's a great clock.
I purchased this clock as a replacement to the one I had previously for about 20 years. About a year later another potential customer NT asked me how long new batteries lasted. I am writing now to update that info for anyone who might be interested. As I only use rechargeable I can only comment on these. At present I get between 10-16 weeks per charge. It's a great clock...

Interessante Uhr. In meiner Original-Verpackug war leider keine Bedienungsanleitung dabei. Eine Antwort diesbezüglich habe ich auch nicht bekommen...
