Is It Possible to Give SIX STARS?!!!!
This stuff is unbelievable! We are the second owners of our entire brick home and were devastated to have wind driven rain coming through the exterior brick veneer and into the living spaces (we didn’t find out til after settlement the p.o.s. builders (Providence Builders: owner K. Annas and supervisor foreman M. Kirby of Hickory, NC) had their builders licenses CONFISCATED by the N.C. Atty General!!!) Our research as well as our experience told us other sealers break down quickly under UV sunlight and products requiring mineral spirits cleanup are a nightmare when using sprayers. Very trepidatiously we ordered our first 5 gallons and followed the “wet on wet” technique described by reviewer “Coltrane”.We sprayed it on, gave it some time to soak in and BEFORE the previous layer started to “dry” out, we’d go over it again, with another light spray (picture the patience it requires to use light coats through a can of spray paint, in order to get a truly good (no runs) finish). WELL, HURRICANE FLORENCE JUST RIPPED THROUGH HERE AND, GUESS WHAT - WE ACTUALLY WATCHED AS THE EXTERIOR WALLS WE APPLIED LASTI-SEAL HAD THE WIND-DRIVEN RAIN DROPS LITERALLY “BOUNCING OFF” INCHES OFF THE WALL. And, no leaks through the veneer in those areas. That was it - we are now in the process of spraying the entire house with Lasti Seal (satin). Starting with the monolithic brick veneers with a NorthEastern exposure. It is going to be a huge product but,we are convinced Lasti-Seal is literally going to save our home! (Oh yeah, we had our chimney sweeps get up on the roof and apply LastiSeal to our brick chimney and they are amazed - so, look for LastiSeal to soon be picked up by chimney sweeps across the nation, I have no doubts (the stuff they endorse now breaks down under UV sunlight.) Finally, the fact that this stuff is water cleanup makes it ALMOST too good to be true. But, it ain’t and it is true!UPDATE: 2020-05-24: well, It’s coming on 2 and 3 years since we “wet on” technique-hand pump sprayed LastiSeal onto our monolithic, NorthEast facing lake home’s vertical brick veneer walls and massive brick veneer chimney chase and we can honestly attest, LastiSeal saved our home! I came back to buy some more because Tropical Storm Arthur just blew through and CLEAR EVIDENCE as to the effectiveness of this LastiSeal product was discovered in THE ONE SMALL AREA I did not spray LastiSeal back in 2017-18 - a 2’ tall by 5’ wide rectangle where we had a firewood rack on a lower back deck which I did not empty and move but which is no longer there. For 4 straight days we had non-stop rain pushed by NNE winds off our lake as if Mother Nature decided to pressure wash the Earth - THE ONLY SPOT where the brick veneer was saturated was that 2’x5’ spot I missed spraying with LastiSeal several years back!!!!!!! Since I’m here, I happened to see a 1* review complaining about LastiSeal supposedly not working on sandstone steps and I can only say the only place we have had Leaks continue is on our front porch steps BUT NOT DUE TO ANY FAULT OF the LastiSeal but rather, BECAUSE OF PIN-size AND LARGER HOLES left by shoddy masons, a disreputable builder and the same Lack of Craftsmanship cited in our original review (above). I am so so,d on this darn stuff that the next time we pressure wash and seal the massive (50+ yards by 8’ tall brick veneer retaining wall along our driveway we are forgoing ever using any “silica” or “siloxane” -based sealers (which are BROKEN DOWN BY after several years by UV light) and sticking with the LastiSeal - the product MORE THAN PAYS FOR ITSELF IN THE LONG RUN! Best o’ Success to any poor souls trying to stop leaking masonry!

10-STAR PRODUCT
Have tried many products none of them did the job. My Florida residence has a very large amount of cast stone columns, balusters, window door trim and banding. By summer’s end, the place would look like the hanging garden of mold. I have tried many products, none of which was worth a penny. In October 2017, after last year’s hurricane Irma, I applied Lastiseal. Absolutely phenomenal results. With the exception of a few spot places, that I missed. Now the place is beautiful. I just purchased another 5 gallons to get the missed places. I apply fairly heavily because I don’t want to do the job twice. I have travertine on exterior balconies and in places where the floor doesn’t slope correctly to he drain. Have tried many products none of them did the job. After seeing the results on my residence, the gated community in which I live is going to apply LastiSeal this fall on common area hardscape. Another plus the manufacturer’s technicians are knowledgeable and personable.

It does NOT water proof mortar
Bought this sealer to stop the moisture and water intrusion into my house. Took out a week of vacation and rented a Genie boom lift to spray the entire exterior of my house which is composed of faux stone and mortar. After a thorough spray of this product on the surface of the exterior, I gave it a day to dry. Then I splashed some water on it to see if it "beads" off of the mortar. To my shock, the water got absorbed into the mortar like a sponge. See the attached photo of the dark strip of mortar and compare that part to the horizontal mortar at bottom which is lighter because no water was splashed on it. My house is a three storey house where the entire facade is composed of faux stone and mortar. Imagine the sense of betrayal and frustration I felt at this product and the situation I found myself in. I had used up an entire 2.5 gal container of this product that apparently did not produce even an inkling of the "seal" this product was supposed to do. I am very disappointed by this product and wonder how it got the 4 star rating it got on Amazon.
