MARATHON Foldable Compact Travel Alarm Clock with Locking Mechanism

Straight out of the box I knew this was going to be a good little clock. It came with 2 alkaline batteries and the case and packaging were good materials. I needed a clock that would only light up when touched and thats this one. There is not much programmability but I did not need that. Easy to light up easy to read easy to program the alarm...perfect for me. I also like how it folds up to put in bag without worrying about breaking. Happy with my purchase!

I wanted a small battery-operated clock for daily use at home & traveling, that isn't constantly backlit. Bonus that this has a 24hr display option! But unfortunately this is too quiet.Pros: Nice size for travel, choice of 12hr or 24hr display, easy to use/set.Cons: Clock leans back a bit, hard to read if it's on a tabletop higher than the bed. Only uses 2 AAA batteries, pretty quiet & "tinny" chirp compared to clocks I've used that took AA.

Fast delivery after, i broke my old alarm clock, so I was only 2 nights without my safety easy alarm clock! Almost exactly like my 25 yr old one I replaced, except this is white which is surprisingly easy to find when waking in the middle of the dark (compared to the old one which was black!) I thought I wanted black but glad I got white. The blue light (my favorite now) is brighter than my old green clock light and much easier to read in the dark. It’s easier to read at night than my Apple Watch, which I wear at night, especially since I’ve had a problem with blurred reading & close vision after recent cataract surgery, that was supposed to correct that same but lesser issue!This would make a great gift. Small & light but sturdy, well built and easy to set up— I don’t usually write reviews!!

Small. Lightweight. Base folds over front as a protective cover. Easy to set and use. Push-button lighted display to see at night.

Everything works fine and is great except that the light doesn’t work. This almost makes the clock completely useless because one interacts with the clock in the dark and the light is required to read the time in the dark.

I purchased 3 clocks before stumbling on this Marathon, finally a small clock i could love. The design makes sense. The time settings are push button and are located on the front of the clock. No tiny things on the back to have to twist, never mind find. I didn't even bother with the instructions. I have not used snooze or the alarm. All of the functions are on the front and clearly marked. The time is easy to find in the dark and stays on long enough to read without glasses. Keeps good time.

I loved this clock....It is quiet, easy to read, compact.....everything I wanted.......until the stand broke after about a year. Would I buy it again......I don't know.......maybe. I just wish the stand was more durable.

Overall, Marathon has good, dependable products that work a good while. The only problem I had with this one was that the battery compartment is difficult to open. Pressing your thumb on the little plastic part does not release the door. I had to use two small screwdrivers and press to get the thing open. Luckily I didn't damage it, and it snapped back on okay.

I bought my Marathon alarm clock over 10 years ago (It was called "Night Owl then) and have travelled far and wide with it. I still use it. Really good product. Compact, easy to see the numbers and to set the alarm. Also has a 24-hour option which I like for international travel. Change the batteries every year or two. So impressed that I bought this one for a friend.

The alarm is pathetic

I was looking for a battery-powered alarm clock that wouldn’t light up my bedroom at night, didn’t make noise unless the alarm was going off, and didn’t have a radio or other smart features. This lives up to the task. It does have one odd quirk which I kind of like but might not be for everyone - you can turn snooze off or on. When snooze is activated, pressing the snooze button turns snooze on and the alarm will ring again soon. To turn the alarm off you have to slide a little slider on the front, which will deactivate they alarm until you turn the alarm back on before bed. When snooze is deactivated, pressing the snooze button will turn the alarm off until the following morning, when it will ring again. Since I didn’t want my alarm to have a snooze feature, this is perfect for me. It’s small, but that means it doesn’t take up a large amount of real estate on my nightstand.
