OtterBox Defender Series Holster/Belt Clip for Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s (Black)

Great fit

My husband has a love/hate relationship with this product. We have bought it multiple times. It functioned exactly the way it should and fits his phone perfectly. The problem is that the clip keeps getting hung on something, (usually the seatbelt in the car) and breaks. It’s frustrating and I wish the maker could come up with a solution. But this is the best and cheapest replacement so we keep buying it. On average, he gets about 3-6 months out of each one.

Exact replacement for the original where the clip had broken off. Read previous reviews and decided on this one. Previously I took my IPhone 5 in and out of the clip a couple times a day. I thought this must be what weakens the clip. Decided to keep this one in the clip unless I was taking a picture as the clip does block the camera. I think this will help the clip last much longer. Also, make sure the phone is positioned correctly on the clip before snapping the phone in. This makes less resistance on the part that clicks over the phone.

I needed to order this "OtterBox" belt clip to replace the original that broke. Yep, it's plastic and it broke, and I purchased it again even though it didn't last me forever. I 'needed' to. Why? Because plastic, usually, won't and doesn't last forever and will eventually break. But it's the best Holster/Belt Clip I've ever had and it performed so well for almost two years. And only the clip broke. It was obviously my fault. I treated it rough beyond imagination. Need, though, is very strong. I would give it 5 stars, but it broke :)

I love the protection that the Otterbox cell phone gives my phones. The major problem I’ve found with them is the belt clip will eventually detach itself from the unit. I thought these had lifetime warranties and contacted Verizon where I bought it. They dodged me and directed me to the manufacturer. I called them and was told I had to pay $10.00 for another one!! This was after overpaying for it at Verizon!! I objected to the charge and asked if they could waive the fee. No was the response. Needless to say that’s the last Otterbox product I’ll purshase. I agree with a few of the comments that the plastic clip can eventually break due to fatigue. This is my second purchase of this for my two year old iPhone so the product life, overall, is good. Far superior to any other OtterBox holder I have tried. Fact - plastic will, with bending, fatigue. I'm an engineer so when one compares the cost of the product versus use/life of the product, it is a good product and worth the price.

After losing the original holster clip that came with my case over 2 years ago I purchased this one. I used this clip for extra screen protection while carrying the phone in my pocket. I never actually clipped it on anything. It did not last a year before the catch to release the phone broke. The odd thing is, there was no CRACK or any noise when it broke but it just slowly bent backward like it was rubber as I tried to take it off my phone. It did not completely break away as a thin skin of plastic still held it to the holster. Although I can NOT swear to this, it appeared it had been cracked before and then glued back. Whatever the case, there was something defective about it. Hard plastic should not slowly and silently bend into a jagged crack configuration. Unfortunately, I had to order another because I am using it to protect the screen and the case is very good and I want to continue to use it. I hope this time I get a decent one.

I got about 14 months out of the original belt clip before the top grip cracked near the base. Since Otterbox does not sell just the clip in retail outlets, I came to Amazon to get the brand name replacement. It works as well as the original and I hope it holds up a little better than the original. Even thought the non-branded replacements are much cheaper, I did not want to trust my phone to the cheap replacements just to save a few bucks.

Not much to say ... exactly like the original equipment it replaced, arrived in no time at all, does the job expected. Perfectly happy!

Item was exactly as advertised and arrived one day prior to the expected delivery date. This is an authentic Otter product. Nice to be able to replace holster separately rather than being forced to buy a whole new Otter Box u it.

Dislike fact that it breaks easily at clip location if it get positioned in wrong position
