Yes, one can grow a apple tree from the seeds in this packet - (after the first year you will likely have a 10-20 inch twig sapling), but if one desires an apple tree in less than 5 years, then forget this offer and go to a local nursery and purchase a 6-8 foot tall apple tree and transplant in your yard. Growing a tree from a seed is certainly cheaper than buying a tree, but it involves more risk and you will need an exceeding quantity of patience! If the apple seedling takes, it will be at least 10 years before apples will be produced. In addition, deer love to eat apple saplings, so if deer frequent your backyard, be assured they will find your young sapling and eat the ends off it and stunt it or kill it. This is why I recommend buying a 6-8 foot sapling tree from a nursery. At a 6-8 foot height, the deer will not likely be able to get to the growing top branches, and once the tree begins to actively grow, the time to actual apples is at least cut in half or less. If you choose to try to grow the seeds, make sure you cage the resulting sapling twig inside a fencing to protect it from deer, rabbits, and your lawn mower.
