St. Teresa of Avila-Interior Castle

undoubtedly from a spiritual master, will hugely benefit someone who is attracted to the spiritual path. a gem of a book, which i never new existed. it gives a great insight to the original spiritual essence & perhaps a validation for seekers. It was unknown to me that such a path existed in the Christian mainstream tradition but has remained secret. This book will be hugely useful for all traditions & religions.especially for students of the non dual tradition

Great Book!

The book itself is great, but I found it difficult to understand because it is written the way St. Teresa did back in the day. If I were permitted a "do-over", I would buy the modern re-written version of the book instead, which would be easier to consume and more impactful. There is a great sermon by Pastor Kong Hee on this book called The Seven Mansions, which I urge you to watch on Youtube. It inspired me to buy this book in the first place!

The Saint gives detailed descriptions of her mystical progress through the seven mansions of "The Interior Castle". Clears all problems of spiritual aspirants. The small print of the Dover thrift edition could have been larger.

Ein klassisches Werk worauf man nicht verzichten sollte! Das Buch hat leider einen Produktionsfehler (siehe Foto). Da ich keine Lust hatte um es zurück zu senden und auf den Ersatz zu warten, habe ich es akzeptiert. Der Versand war übrigens schnell unde das Buch war gut verpackt.

Helpful understanding of our spiritual journey

The practise and deep understanding the saint had and which is appliable today for those really into the deep knowledge.

This book is a must for those who are guided to get closer to God according to their prayer for that grace. I would recommend, in the same vein of greater closeness with God to read St John of the Cross's Ascent of Mount Carmel, AFTER having read Interior Castle. A word of caution: Don't start by reading these two books; it's like wanting to learn to swim by jumping in the deep end. Start easy with The Story of a soul, by St Therese of Lisieux. Then, go for Autobiography of St Teresa of Avila, before jumping in the deep end with Interior Castle. If you honestly want greater closeness with God, read the above in sequence... and get a bunch of highlighters and page sticker markers.

For anyone who is on the spiritual journey of deepening their relationship with God, this book is for you!
