Ohuhu Alcohol Markers, Honolulu S Set – The Set That Makes Non-Artists Feel Like Artists
Value Rating: 4.5/5 starsFor $57, you’re getting 60 colors plus a colorless blender, a sturdy zip case, and both brush and chisel tips on every marker. That’s a solid deal—especially if you’ve priced out other alcohol marker brands, which can get wild fast (think $100+ for sets with similar features). These aren’t “budget markers,” but they absolutely punch above their price for quality, color selection, and how easy they are to use—even for beginners.Specifications:• 60 vibrant alcohol-based colors + 1 colorless blender• Dual tip: brush (6mm) + soft chisel (1-4mm)• Comes with a zippered storage case & swatch card• Non-toxic, ACMI-certified alcohol ink• Designed for coloring, illustration, sketching• Quick-drying and smudge-resistant• Replacement brush tips availableKey Points:• Alcohol markers vs. “regular” markers: Alcohol-based ink blends beautifully—no harsh lines, no sticky streaks, and it dries super quickly. You can layer, blend, and get gradients you just cannot get with water-based or “school” markers. That’s why serious artists and adult coloring fans obsess over these.• Even if you have zero technique (hello, fellow beginners), these markers somehow make everything look more polished. The colors are vivid, nothing gets blotchy, and if you color outside the lines, you can literally blend it away with the colorless blender.• The brush tip feels like an actual paintbrush, which is what lets you get those soft edges and easy fills. The chisel end is great for details and edges, so you get options.• You do not have to be an artist. These made my coloring look so much smoother and less like a kindergartener’s art project.• The color selection is fantastic—every shade you could want for adult coloring books, hand lettering, or even just fancying up your planner.• The case is a nice touch. Easy to store, easy to grab for coloring anywhere.Final Thoughts:If you’re used to basic markers, you’ll be shocked at how much better these look on paper. I’m genuinely impressed by how even and smooth my coloring turned out, and it honestly made coloring way more fun. Even if you’re a total beginner, these will make you feel like you know what you’re doing.

Soft Chisel is where it's at
Ohuhu never disappoints, at least not so far.I am not usually a fan of chisel tip markers, but these soft chisel tips are a whole other animal, and I love them. For me, regular chisel tips are always a challenge to control and unpredictable (brush tips are my favorite of all time). They twist in my hand as I'm using them and they produce inconsistent marks as a result (Yes, I realize that it's a me problem, lol - I think if I invested more practice time with them, I maybe could get used to them and get better with them, but for now, it is what it is).In walks the soft chisel tip to change my whole big bad attitude about chisel tips and flip it on its head! The tip bends slightly as you're using it, which for me, provide more control and thus more predictable lines. The very end of it produces a beautifully narrow and consistent line. I can get a pretty decent fine line with the end of a brush tip, but the soft chisel produces SUCH an even and beautiful line. I am seriously impressed. The brush tips are also, of course, just perfect.Next, the colors in this set of markers are lovely. The blues especially are vibrant and provide a gorgeous range. Blues are really important to me, so when I saw how amazing they are, I was instantly in love. Overall, it's a great range of different shades, and a wide range of grays as well.I also love that Ohuhu includes a protective sheet that you can place behind your artwork to protect whatever you have behind it (because they're alcohol markers, after all, and they're gonna bleed most of the time). My swatches were done in an Ohuhu Marker notebook, so I get no bleed on that paper at all (if you haven't tried those yet, definitely give them a go. The paper is magical!)This marker set is definitely worth the money - professional grade quality with a much better price tag.

love the new soft chisels!!
A few months ago I ordered several sets of Ohuhu markers with their newer longer nib because at first rrelease, they were promoting it as a soft chisel, and it wasn't at all. THESE markers are the ones I thought I was ordering- the chisel nibs are bouncy and springy (like foam as opposed to a chunk of felt or hard fiber) and if you hold them to paper for any amount of time, ink literally flows from them. I do big wide ranges of color (like color field paintings) and a lot of mixing, so the chisels work for me. However, because of their flex and softness, even though the tip of the chisel comes down to a narrow edge (it's very different in thickness than a normal chisel at the tip- check out the photos of the listing) because of how soft the nib is, it's VERY hard to get a fine line with it. So if you get the large brush on one side and the soft chisel on the other, your ability to do fine line work will be limited unless you have a super light touch and your coloring abilities are extraordinary. So keep that in mind. My ideal dream marker would be if Ohuhu did a version with the soft chisels and the mini soft brush- that would be bliss. But until then, I think that these are by far my favorite variations. I love how the ink flows on these- I honestly think I'll be able to get rid of my bottles of alcohol inks now that I used for large pouring coverage because these do that job with just a bit of pressure as you work with them. BTW there wasn't too much overlap between this set and the smaller sets, so check the color charts. I wish Ohuhu would just release the one big set with all the colors, in a PROPER case (what's with going back to the cheap zipper bags?) when they released these but I guess they are doing a different roll out.
