Did not really know what to expect from this item but it turned out to be a little ripper! Our tiny fur son has always been hysterical about having his nails done so we have always ended up getting the ladies at his vet clinic do them for us. As first he wouldn't stay still for us to use this gizmo, so we just kept it laying around where he normally hangs out (our bed - so he can watch the telly). After a short while he seemed to get used to it being a part of the furniture and would stay calm when we used it on him, for 2-3 nails. We just kept repeating this strategy until he eventually allowed us to do two complete paws in one session. We've now got him quite comfy with three paws before he gets antsy, and are slowly working on that final step for the little guy. We still leave the unit laying on top of the bed 24/7 and this as much as anything seems to have helped him come to terms with it being in close proximity. Actually, he often has naps whilst laying on it! So even if your dog is a nail-cutting hysteric, just work on the familiarity aspect and the unit will do the rest as t is super quiet and imparts no discomfort or pain. Bloody great buy!
