Flawless Finish!
I really like this powder. I am presently suffering - for the second time - with a bout of post-menopausal polycystic acne. 52 years old what the freakinโ freak?!! Anyway, I digress. I tried Proactive (WASTE) and settled in on Skin and Pharmacy Advanced Acne Therapy Kit from CVS - they used to sell it here but no longer. It works WONDERS, along with some oral antibiotics and topical tea tree oil. Why am I telling you all of this, you ask?๐ My face is a flippinโ mess right now. And I canโt use any foundation on it. But Iโve had a REALLY bad past six months and darn it, I want to wear makeup again!! I never tried this product before, and it was on top of all the other powders and potions I had in the drawer... I just wanted something to make my face look a little less gross, you know??๐ So I applied the powder and I got the most surprising result - I mean, it gave me such fantastic coverage!!!! ๐คSURE - the pustules and blemishes were still THERE - however, they were so much less noticeable!!! As I looked at myself in the mirror, tears welled up in my eyes...it felt so GOOD to feel like I could go out and not have people stare at me!! My sister knows what I have been through with my skin (BTW - this acne treatment worked the first time I used it). So I sent a pic of me to her and she was like โD*MN, girl! Look how good your face looks - what did you do!!!??!โ I know this is an awfully long way of telling you how fantastic a product is....the smell is nice. Itโs a very fine powder, not like some powders that end up in little balls your brush wonโt pick up. Plus, more importantly, there is no dust flying out of it as you start to pick it up with your brush. This is definitely a good buy!๐๐ผ๐

The Very Definition of Irony
Allow me to define the word, "irony" in a whimsical little anecdote I'll call, "Aging Really Sucks". I know that most of the women who read this will know what I'm trying to say. One day you're loving life, turning heads and pretending to bitterly complain to your best friend about cat-calls and unwanted attention from strangers passing by. Inevitably, as we all do, you get older. Now- I'm strictly speaking about appearances, the surface - as shallow as that might seem, it's a reality. Time carries on and the NEXT day, you're walking down the street and it's like you're invisible. It's heart-breaking. So, if you have the means, and even if you don't, you are willing to spend crazy loot to reverse that process and get back some of that glory in the flower. I have spent an embarrassing amount on face powder because I love the "matte" look - the light clean, even surface of a beautiful face. I have spent more on this finishing touch than I'm even willing to admit! But, somehow even the most expensive, the most highly rated powder wound up settling in my pores, bunching in the creases next to my nose and making me miserable. I leave the house thinking I look fresh, only to look in the mirror a few hours later and start rubbing the stuff around to even things out. I wind up taking most of it off and looking even worse! So I bought another chubby pot of highly-rated, grossly expensive powder and tried to "bake" the stuff on my face. It's all the rage, right? Now ask me if it worked. So, I re-read the instructions, bought the kabuki, tried it again - and the end result was still the same. Ah yes, back to irony. Out of sheer frustration I buy Coty Airspun face powder because I remember my mother using it when I was a little girl. That memory led to this though.... let's get down to basics and see what happens. Coty Airspun is simplicity- it doesn't come in 50 different shades, has one purpose, doesn't require a special brush, need time to "bake" or have to be used with other products in tandem to work most effectively. Wouldn't you know, it's Coty that winds up staying in place, not sinking into the pores on my nose, remains even - light and dry - and gives me the look I've been craving. This weekend, I thanked a man who held the door open for me at my local gas station and he said, "I always hold the door open for beautiful women". I thought I was going to fall out. But I have to admit.... it felt pretty good. Stop spending a ton of money on powder for your face. For the price of a "Americano Grande" at your local bodega, you can have the BEST FACIAL POWDER EVER.

Love this powder!!
I remember using this powder the first time I ever tried makeup when I was younger so when I found it on Amazon I couldn't resist buying it. I purchase this powder in the shade translucent and the shipping was really fast. I can't speak for it by itself because I did purchase this along with two other items and receive them all the same time but it was sealed really well with a protective plastic bag around it and also a plastic seal around it. This powder is great for setting your makeup especially concealer but it does have its downfalls. This powder leaves your face feeling soft and set but it definitely leaves you with a matte finish and like any powder if you use too much it will make your face look cakey. So when using this I would recommend not using a lot and if so definitely using a hydrating setting spray or with a dewy Foundation. I also like using this powder by itself when I just have to quickly run to the store or don't feel like putting on a lot of makeup it's great for blurring your pores and giving you the look of having makeup on without actually wearing a lot of makeup. One thing that everybody should know is that it does have a strong smell to it I personally love the way it smells and that's the one thing I remember when having it while I was younger was that I love the way it smells but Others May find the smell too strong so that would be something to take into consideration before purchasing another thing to think about is that I noticed with this I get really bad flashback when taking pictures so if you plan on using this for sentting your makeup for school pictures or anything involving pictures I would definitely think twice about using this because it does have such a bad flashback to it. Other than that I absolutely love the product and will continue to wear it every time I need to set my makeup or powder my face. I would definitely recommend to anybody trying to find an affordable setting powder.

This face powder has been around for decades for a reason.
This powder has been around for a long ,long time for a reason. I remember my grandmother wearing it, my mom, myself, my oldest daughter, and now, 16 years later my youngest daughter wears it as well. I know there are lots or new face powders on the market that "promise" great HD wear,24 hour wear, luminous wear, moisture wear, etc...But, in the end all you really need is a powder that doesn't cake up or turn orange and that sets your makeup so it doesn't slide off your face. This is the powder that does those things AND gives you the option to wear it alone or over a moisturizer when you just need a bit of coverage. This powder is used by just about everyone I know here in the south because we can wear it alone on days we don't want to wear a full face of makeup ,and we can use it over a full face of makeup to make sure the humidity doesn't cause our makeup to look like we just walked through a rainstorm. This powder is also good to mix with different browser definers to give a fuller brow appearance for those who have thinning or other brow problems that you can't just "draw" on. You can use a cream or pencil type brow definitely and then in your hand mix this powder with a an eye shadow that is close to your brow color and brush it on over the cream or pencil, then use a brow brush to finish up. It helps to give some texture to the brow and helps it stay in place. We usually go for the translucent color as my daughter is very light and neutral undertone while I am med light with reddish undertones, and my oldest daughter is medium with an olive undertone and translucent works for all of us. I have seen all of the colors and none of the colors look unnatural and blend well with any skin tone that I have seen. I am not the authority on skin tones or makeup, but with 11 siblings, countless neices,3 daughters,my mom,5 aunt's,and my grandmother all using this same brand, I can tell you I have seen this powder work through sunshine, rain, tears, and even childbirth and it is still our favorite, lol. The price is also more than reasonable and you get a very good amount in the container. I will always buy this brand as I've never seen any powder that does any more for any price.

Good powder, incredible price, strong fragrance
I snagged this powder in two versions (translucent and translucent extra coverage) for under $3 apiece. Even the usual $6 price tag is an absolute steal. It works very well, and with 2.3oz per canister you get at least 2-3x more than what's offered by most brands. I have fair, combination skin with neutral to cool undertones, and the start of some fine lines around my eyes. No major discoloration or blemish issues, just the occasional spot. I apply this lightly with a velour puff over moisturizer and SPF, or occasionally over a BB cream. It evens out my skintone, mattifies my T-zone, and doesn't amplify my lines or break me out. It also provides a little bit of an airbrushing effect, so IMO it really does work as a light foundation if you're not looking to cover anything major. Really oily faces would probably do best with the extra coverage. My combo skin does fine with the translucent, but I tend to prefer the extra coverage; it's not noticeably heavier and I think it mattifies just a little better. Unfortunately, the scent is so strong that it can be overwhelming. I was honestly a little taken aback when I first opened the package. After using it daily for a few weeks, though, and generally with a pretty light hand, I found that it grew on me. Also be aware that the #1 ingredient is talc, if that is of concern to you.

I heard amazing reviews on this through amazon and youtube so I ...
I purchased this because I was on the hunt for a cheaper alternative to my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. The three things that I look for in a translucent powder are: 1) it doesn't flash back at all, 2) it is finely milled, and 3) it will last all day (or about 10 hours). I gave it 3 stars because of the packaging, smell, and longevity of the powder. I heard amazing reviews on this through amazon and youtube so I thought I should give this a try in hope that it would be my new found favorite. Packaging: My initial thought on the powder when I first opened it was that, it is messy. The top cover isn't a twist on/off, you just pull/pop off the lid which can sometimes make the powder fly everywhere and it then makes it inconvenient for me if I want to go traveling with it. I'd have to find another container to put it in or I'd have to tape it around because I wouldn't want to risk it opening up in my bag and spilling everywhere if anything were to happen. Smell: The second thing that I noticed right off the bat was the smell. I'm not one to be picky with scent, I sometimes enjoy when there is a scent however the Coty AirSpun Loose Face Powder has a very intense smell in my opinion. I actually try to avoid using the powder because of it. I thought maybe after a couple minutes my nose would adjust to the scent but it lingers for a while and it's become too much for me. Because my face is fairly sensitive and acne prone, I worry that the scent or whatever ingredient is put in here to give it that smell, may break me out. For the most part it hasn't but I haven't consistently used this powder long enough to know whether it does or not. Longevity: As for the longevity, I would say that it is okay. It holds for about 4 hours I'd say? I only really use powder to set my under eye concealer from creasing. I don't use a thick concealer, and whenever I use this product by the time I get home from school which is about 4 hours of wear time, I notice the outside corners of my eye have concealer bunched up. I could easily pat it out with my finger but that sometimes removes the product or requires me to reapply and I don't prefer to carry any makeup on me when I go to school for only 4 hours. I would also like to mention that I have normal to dry skin but have minimal to normal oils on my T zone by the time I come home from school. When I use this product on my T zone, I still notice a lot of oil when I come home. I would say that this powder is very finely milled and it does not flash back at all so I do appreciate that a lot. On a side note, because I was somewhat disappointed with the powder mainly because of longevity and smell, I purchased the RCMA No Color Powder and that has been my go to.

The best face powder I've ever used including high end brands!
I own too many face powders to be honest! Laura Mercier, Too Faced, Fenty, as well as approximately 10 drugstore loose powders yet this one is my absolute favorite! If you don't like scented makeup, I'll tell you now, this one isn't for you. But I love the smell! It reminds me of my Mom putting on makeup when I was a child. The Coty airspun powder give a slight bit of extra coverage and makes my final makeup look airbrushed! I have acne scars and redness, and even with the best foundations I can find, it doesn't quite do what this powder can! I have a normal to dry skin type depending on the season and this powder never dries my skin out even in the dead of winter in Michigan! The bonus is the price! I mean I've been using the same exact powder since 2017 and its still going strong and hasn't gone off! For a few bucks?!?! I literally cannot recommend this powder more highly! Trust me, just get it! I did buy another one just for sanitary purposes. I use a large, fluffy brush to set my makeup. I also use the smallest amount on the brush if I go overboard with my blush. I use this as both a setting and finishing powder which it work phenomenally for both purposes!

Been using this stuff for years - light coverage, easy to use,for peaches and cream complexion
With all the powders available to buy these days, it's sort of surprising I continue to use my original loose powder and not the mineral powders available everywhere. I have tried various mineral powders, but when it comes to choosing one when I apply my makeup, I end up using this one. From teenagers to age 40 something (eh hum), I've been using this translucent powder and never once had any adverse reaction to it. It never clogged my pores or gave me acne. Over the years, and even today, I have been told I have a peaches and cream complexion. Although my skin isn't blemish free anymore (I do have a few darker spots), they are not noticeable with a light layer of foundation and a light dusting of translucent powder. Lately, I have been using it on my teenage sons acne, and although talc is not recommended for acne, it hasn't made it any worse and does a good job of covering without looking thick. For him, I pat his face with damp hands after applying so it looks completely natural and still covers acne spots. NOTE regarding other reviews regarding made in China claims and that the product is different - the container is no longer cardboard and is not as pictured however the product within is the same. I remember so clearly in high school when Long and Lush mascara formula changed and I stopped using the mascara completely because it was so different. It no longer washed off easily and just wasn't at all the same. I am so picky about these types of changes! With a face powder, I would definitely be able to tell if it was different or working less effectively. IMHO, as of today, it is the same exact product I used in high school, keeps my face shine free, blemish free, smells exactly the same and is light and fluffy like sifted flour. As for the product packaging, I prefer the plastic container. Do I wish it was still made in the USA? Yup I do. But it definitely is the same quality product inside as I remember and have been using for YEARS.
