I rarely touch hard liquor - not since my days of youthful indiscretion. But I have always wanted to know what some of those exotically-named drinks consist of, especially if I am expected to serve up one to a guest. This book made me laugh so hard I cried, and impulsively (after several glasses of wine), I ordered up a ton of Zach Golden's books to gift to friends and family. I felt very strongly all of them should have the guilty pleasure of a book they might never buy themselves; a conversation piece if nothing else. The dedication and forward are worth the price alone. I have a certain fondness for born and bred NYers, but as a word of caution, this book may not play in Peoria.

This was such a great gift! I bought this for my brother for Christmas, and it was such a hit! He loved the humor in it, and everyone wanted to flip through the book. Even after bartending for years, he found drinks he wants to make. This is an incredible gift for anyone with this sense of humor. I will definitely gift this again.

This book is both hilarious and packed full of delicious cocktail recipes. From the classics, to contemporary drinks, these are sure to please most every palette.

Love LOVE this cocktail book. I love trying new cocktail recipes and this one is hilarious and has a bunch I haven't tried yet. Plus it definitely helps me figure out what I want that night.I took off one star because the item I received had a huge gash on the front cover like something sharp had dug into it,. Plus several of the pages were stuck together almost like with glue and I had to use a knife to separate them - though none of the recipes or pages were damaged

I think I’ve given this as a gift about 15 times. It is the definitive retro cocktail book. Every single cocktail is just insane. And, btw, if you haven’t bought the entire Thug kitchen series, you are doing it wrong.

I read through a couple of the reviews for this book before purchasing it, and needless to say I was intrigued. Was it really that funny? I got this as a gift for a friend, and when I received it I had to flip through some of the pages to verify the reviews, and boy, were they right. While I didn't read through the whole book, from the few pages I glanced at, the author has a great sense of humor. I would definitely recommend this book as a gift!

Every 3rd word is a curse word.Lots of cussing in every creative way imaginable - far more than others.However, that is was makes it hysterical.If bad language grates on you or is offensive to you personally, do not buy it.Otherwise, if the bad language does not bother you, it is absolutely hilarious.Same review for What the F-- should I have for Dinner.

I bought this for a girlfriend for her bridal shower. Among all the other gifts I thought this would be fun for both the bride and her groom. It was a huge hit and was passed around the room while people chuckled at the clever recipes. I will certainly be buying this again since it makes a great gift. The pages are thick and can easily be wiped off if something is spilled on them. It is also a hard back which makes it look a little bit better than a flimsy softcover.

Perfect prezzie for the person that's difficult to get for. The language is colourful (as you would expect) but still has actual "recipes" for cocktails. Great for lads, or ladettes, with a sense of humour, or a Secret Santa gift.

Bought this for my husband he loves it. It's really funny and it makes great drinks it explains how to make the drinks very well. Overall it's a great gift.What I would enjoy more is if they added a page that said what alcohol you should buy to make the most amount of drinks out of this book like if you were to make every drink how much alcohol it would take to make one of each drink just at the back or something I'm not sure.
