Real Mexican crockery bean pot
He loves his bean pot! It's authentic, just like his Mom had on the stove, when he was a child. It is easy to clean (very minimal soap) and cooks all types of beans without need to soak them first! You must season it first and the instructions are in broken English and Spanish, as it is produced in Mexico. You put warm H2O in pot overnight to soak before using to cook. You can also make soup and other one dish meals in it. It doesn't leave any metallic taste to the beans, as do metal pots. We will probably order the smaller size to use for just the 2 of us, for everyday. Would make a great gift for someone who cooks beans and soups. It is also very pretty and decorative. We leave it on the stove.

Wonderful!
This pot is a must have for anyone who loves to use a slow cooker. The aroma that comes out of this pot while it's cooking is heavenly and fills the whole house. Not only that but it is beautiful and looks great sitting on my stove while it's cooking. I have a glass top stove so I use a diffuser to protect the pot and since it is made out of clay it's a little rough around the edges and mine came with a chip out of the handle on the cover, but I think that just added to the charm of the pot itself.

At first I liked it, I seen it and it was pretty ...
At first I liked it, I seen it and it was pretty until I cooked the beans, it makes to much suds, I had to take it out more then 4,5, times look like soap suds, I was so excited when I used it , but was disappointed after, so I gave it to my daughter told her if she didn't like it to use it as a flower pot.

La Mexicana Olla De Barro Pot, 6 qt--Really fine work
This pot was meant to use on the stove top as a bean cooker, but I have never used it that way. Instead it stores my breadsticks and cookies perfectly, keeping them crisp when I want them crisp and doesn't allow them to dry out too much. It was a great price, too, so an excellent buy. The manufacturer packed it really well, so that there was little chance of breaking in the shipment.

Nice sized bean pot
I recieved this Monday in the mail after ordering it on Friday! Super fast delivery and a great pot. I soaked it like directions said prior to use and boiled water in it. Dumped water and was ready for beans. Amazing gives them the right consistency. I am going to try a stew in it later this week. Maybe champurrada... who knows. Next tepache.... I bougth this as a gift to myself. It is clay so there are some imperfections, but no cracks or breaks. Just in how the clay dried etc. I am actually going on there website see what else they sell.

Great vendor, beautiful product.
Loved the pot, came in perfectly wrapped, but no instructions. Youtube had several ways to season the pot before use, but mine still cracked. I called Mexigrocer & Amanda said they normally provide instructions, but mine did not. Mine sadly cracked on the bottom, my heart broke. I learned I was supposed to soak the outer bottom for 2 hours in water. Then fill the pot & boil for 5 minutes, then let it cool overnight with the water. I asked if I needed to send it back- she said no need, I could send a photo of the damage & order #. I still love this pot & would order another one, but my little sister ordered another one for me from Mexigrocer & once she seasons it she will ship it to me. I am super excited to have a proper bean pot!!!

The Old Bean Pot
I had one of these years ago and remember it was a good bean baker. I put mine in the oven to cook after soaking it in water to get the clay wet. It worked very well. I don't think you could go wrong baking a stew or a chicken in it. Very decorative in my kitchen.
