Upon mixing the granules with the compost, how often do I need to change the granules in the compost, or is it long lasting?

Question 2

I want to mix some granules into my compost pots and then plant some chili seeds. Will this hinder the growth of the chillis/hinder the taste?

Granules do not adversely affect the taste and development of plants. You can use with peace of mind.

Question 3

mould has began to appear on several of my plants since adding some of this product to the top of my soil - how can i resolve the issue?

This is a big problem that is unlikely to be resolved following manufacturer's instructions. The best way to use this product on plants is to soak the bits in water then just use the water for your plants. Completely takes away that mould issue. The manufacturer recommends (if you contact them) 4tbsp per gallon (about 1tbsp per litre). Let it soak for minimum 30 minutes to an hour before using strained water. I just keep a 2.5l container topped up (with added water and new bits) and most of the bits just sink to the bottom. I make sure I empty completely once every few days although I don't know if that's necessary. 
This mould issue is a widespread problem with these bits when sprinkled on top.

Will this kill fly larva?

I'd used and spent a fortune on Mozquito bits and I never got rid of them, the only two things that helped was Diatematious Earth (DE) put onto top soil but only after soil has dried up a little otherwise it would turn to toothpaste, or use a few inches of sand on top of plants and always bottom water as they prefer to live in top soil. The caveat is that DE if it gets onto your plant leaves, crevices or stems may leave a long term powdry residue you will continously be cleaning. 6 months on I'm still doing it. And note that if using sand not all plants like it - the dry arrid loving plantsare more likely to be OK. Bottom watering in all accounts help.  Using soapy water and neem oil or any oil does deter pests but not fungus gnats (black flies) and does  actually suffocate and harm some not all, plants as it clogs up their pores that need stay open for photosynthesis... I made a lot of mistakes following people on social media and you tube. Good luck.
