Frigidaire 50 with Pump Dehumidifier

Works perfectly, just as needed and expected

Not impressed with this dehumidifier. I need one with a pump so that limits my options a bit. A couple issues with this one. It is not efficient, meaning not only does it use 530 watts it takes a long time to remove moisture from the air. The dehumidifier it was replacing also used about 500 watts but took half as long to remove the same amount of water. Another is it is very loud, even on low fan speed and finally this one had an issue where when it would kick back on sometimes it would not start the compressor, the fan would kick on and you would think it was working but the humidity kept climbing, it would use about 70 watts when this happened, would run for hours before finally realizing it was not working. Turning it off and back on would "fix" the issue. I ended up returning it, maybe I got a dud but this one is a pass for me.

I'm pretty happy with this. It comes with a hose for a continuous pump if you need it and a pretty decent size tray if you prefer to just empty it out and not run it continuously. Admittedly it can be a little loud but not enough to hinder sleep. Quiter than a fan in your room that's for sure. The pump works really well and the hose is really long. However you will definitely need to either tape it to whatever you're draining it into or place something on the hose because no matter how secure you think it is when the pump activated it jumps and I have woken up many times to water being on the floor because the hose dropped. Once I fixed that I had no issues. It does a great job removing the humidity from the air. Note that if you have any gnats they will be very attracted to the moisture it pulls. However the folder catches them all really well. The folder is easy to clean although it is a little annoying to wait for it to dry. The app isn't the most reliable. It gave me a notification that I needed to clean the filter but I just got the product and upon inspection there were no issues. Last thing wirh the filter, it's annoying to put back on you have to line it up perfectly. Your first few times may prove a bit difficult but it's a minor complaint. Setting it up was a bit of a pain to be honest. The wheels...they're are four wheels that you place on the bottom and for some reason they don't simply screw in. They fall out extremely easily so imagine doing that 4 times. I'd set one up and the other would easily fall out and I do mean easy. Minor complaints aside I do think this product is worth it.

Reliable, effective and effective in drying out my basement.

Disappointed with this unit. I have had several other Frigidaire models, and they did better than this one. The internal humidistat is not even close to actual room humidity. The setpoint increments by 5 percent so when you factor that the unit is calibrated 10 percent off this makes obtaining setpoint pretty frustrating. Basically, I think Frigidaire went cheap and it's apparent. The previous version of this dehumidifier would throw an E02 error, and it was over, but at least it ran well until the fatal error. :-)

Defective wifi module; keeps randomly disconnecting from wifi and starts beeping out loud randomly at different points (woke me up in the middle of the night). Tried to re-pair via the app twice, but immediately loses wifi connection again and the app says “something went wrong” with a “refresh” button that does nothing. Worked great before the wifi module failed about 40 days after purchase, and about 13 days after return window closed. Disappointing purchase, will have to jump thru Customer Support hoops now to return it.

It does a very nice job.
