Eparé Egg Cups for Soft Boiled Eggs - Egg Cracker Topper Set with Spoons

I haven't had soft-boiled eggs since I was a little girl and my grandmother made them for me. I am on a special diet, and incorporate eggs into my daily meal plan. I found the Epare Egg Topper/ Shell Remover, and being a lover of kitchen gadgets, I ordered one. It came nicely packaged, made of stainless steel. Included: 1 topper, 2 egg cups, 2 egg spoons, all steel. It looked impressive, and perfect for making eggs for my husband and me. So the next morning, I made 2 large soft-boiled eggs and placed each one in their individual egg cups. I then put the topper down on the first egg, pulled the handle up, which automatically causes the spring mechanism to score the egg shell. I then just lifted the shell off with the spoon included in the set. Eating the eggs out of the silver cup reminded me of elegant room service or a 5-star restaurant. I had forgotten how much I like soft-boiled eggs. Not anymore. I've used this set multiple times, and each time the topper worked perfectly. This would make a very unique gift for soft-boiled egg lovers. Elegant, sleek design and easy to clean. 5 stars.

I was very skeptical at first about this product. My Italian grandfather would make us these fancy soft boiled eggs put them in shot glasses and cut them open with just a butter knife. I was on Amazon searching for just egg holders when I came across this tool Epare egg topper set. I read reviews which I don’t always trust on Amazon then I watched some videos on different sites and thought to try it. I have to say I LOVE this tool! It’s super easy to use and it really works. It’s fun to use and makes clean cuts. I thought the spoons that came with it would be to wide to use but they work very well. In my kitchen I use jumbo brown eggs and they fit perfectly in the egg holders. I would highly recommend Epare egg topper set.

When I ordered this, all I really needed were the egg cups. I've tried different sizes of eggs, and these cups worked for all of them. The cups are not very substantial but I've grown to like them. They're light, easy to clean metal so they aren't going to chip or crack. The spoons are very small, but quite usable. The egg decapitator took a little while to figure out despite the instructions. While it doesn't work as perfectly as the instructions imply, it still works better than any alternative I've ever used. Very clever idea. Realistically, this should get 4.5 stars. It isn't perfect, but it comes close.

I'm really not sure that I have the expertise to discuss this. I'm not part of the Cook's Illustrated team, which can buy all competing brands and test them. I discovered soft-boiled eggs late in life, looked at the competing kits, and even went to YouTube. I recoiled at the other brand--the one with the gravity-powered (or muscle-assisted) egg cracker, and ended up with this one. I love it. Cheap advice: pierce the eggs with an egg-piercer (or small nail, or needle, or whatever) on the large end of the egg before boiling. Then, when cooked, put the eggs in their holders with the LARGE end up. Works great. Side note: the spoons included in this set are perfectly designed. For all I know, all of these companies get their spoons from one company...what do I know? But what I do know is that these spoons fit the interior of an eggshell perfectly.

These are cheap, and look it. But very rarely do I try to dazzle friends and co-workers with my egg cups, so this doesn't really present a problem for me. There were a few metal strands that looked like sort of metallic-hair stuck to the middle of one of them, and the metal is very flimsy, very thin and very light. The cups are slightly too small for the eggs I use, they do still work but would work better if the opening was a smidge wider. The egg cracker must take some getting used to...more often than not, I either ruin the egg or the top gets stuck in the cracker and I have to hit it to get it out. I think it has worked for me perfectly maybe once.

The cracker topper is the main event of this product. The provided egg holders would certainly fit medium eggs, perhaps large eggs. I always buy jumbo or extra large. The larger eggs can get stuck in the egg holders but this is a minor issue for me. It took about three eggs before I sort of got the knack of the topper. Since the topper is circular, it works on even the jumbo eggs. I find topping the narrow end of the egg works better for me. The spoons are just the right size for getting into the opening. I would have liked a deeper bowl on the spoon, but they work fine.

All those other reviews that tell you how great the egg cracker is? They're right! I was amazed and delighted that it worked perfectly the first time I used it. Easy, too. Yes, I did pull the ball all the way to the top as others have said to do. And yes, I let it go with some force. And OK, on the second egg I had to do it 3 times. But it was so great, it totally grabs the egg shell and lifts it off. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. One minor point: I would prefer to have 4 egg cups rather than just the 2. So now my only issue is figuring out the cooking time for eggs the way I want them...

Started eating soft boiled eggs again after years, Saw this as I was looking for an egg top remover and remembered one my grandfather had that resembled a ring with teeth that functioned like scissors. So came online to Amazon and low and behold found this. I was really eggcited. So ordered, product turned up and couldn't wait to try it. First egg decapitated perfectly, I thought oh this is fantastic. Second egg, smashed to pieces, fractured shell all the way through and was difficult to remove the top. Bearing in mind that the eggs are HOT, so that was a failure. tried the 3rd egg, same thing fractured all the way through. Egg cups as others have said are way too big and have rough sharp edges on the bottom foot, with a single spot weld to hold the 2 halves together. After eating multiple eggs since purchasing this piece of crap, I can honestly say do not waste your time with this. It is more hassle to return items with Amazon these days, especially something that cost $15 so I've thrown away $15. or basically paid $15 for a spoon that works as intended.

I was so excited to use this, as I thought finally, a neat way to cut the top of a soft boiled egg. I have been using a sharp knife for years, and that did a fairly decent job, but usually there were a few small pieces shell in the egg, and I had to pick them out. The first time I used this, it didn't work, and wouldn't cut the shell. When I really looked at the pictorial instructions, I knew I wasn't doing it right. You have to pull up the little knob, then let it go. As it goes down, on its own, it does a good job of cutting the shell. It's a really neat little gadget. NOTE: If it goes to quickly, it can knock the egg out of the cup, so be careful.d

Tardamos un poco en entender las instrucciones, y aunque vienen bien hechas con dibujos, tal vez solo añadir la explicación escrita, ya que el cortador necesita hacer succión formando un vacío entre el cortador y el cascarón y esa parte tardamos un poco en decifrarla. Excelente producto!

Great service delivered quickly, the item works great, just a few pings of the handle and the eggs are topped perfectly without any messy chips of eggshell. The egg cups and spoons are what they are. Everything is of good quality in my opinion.

The Egg Cracker works well once you master the technique. Never knew these egg crackers existed...was looking for egg cups on amazon. Now this is an always used tool...love it! The egg cups are fine, but could be a little more substantial....metal is a little thin and they do not look high end, but they serve the purpose.

Great product, well designed and manufactured with quality materials. I had previously purchased another similar item but it very quickly became unusable as the weld failed. The epare is first class. Would definitely recommend for people who are heavy handed and crack eggs lol
