Added tp an existing cane and allows me to stand up the cane on most surfaces. Also more security when walking since it provides better grip.Only problem is that it does wear down with a lot of use, but that is to be expected. It is a little more stable than a previous one with four 'feet'. I will definitely buy again as it wears out.

People wonder why, as soon as I walk into a room, I throw my cane onto the floor.I figure since that's where it's going to end u anyway, I might as well save some time. This was great for the first 2-3 weeks, but as soon as the edges of the feet started to wear away, just a whole lot of nope. On anything but the smoothest most level plane, give it a moment and Whoops, there she goes.It's not heavy enough or wide enough really. I would say not to get it. Look for one that's bigger.

I only had 4 months. The center is NOT supported. My cane pushed through the center when I must have leaned on it too much. The center has a very thin rubber center mold. IT COULD BE DESIGNED BETTER. Don't waste money on it.

I have patients with different versions of this kind of product, however, they are all slightly smaller or have 3-4 "legs" which don't render them even stable enough to stand alone on the low loop commercial carpet in the clinic, much less on pile carpet that's often in the home.This product, however, stands alone without problems on pile. It's not really significantly bigger than the competing products. It's a very tight fit so you'll have to put it on the floor and press down hard to get it on, bu t then it doesn't come off.

I have a little dog that loves to get in her water bowl then walk around leaving water. Sometimes I would hit water with my regular cane and it would slip. This tip doesn't seem to do it. It adds some weight to the cane but really seems stable.

I got tired of replacing worn out tips with the metal pieces ripping through. This 5-Pod tip is a GREAT improvement for stability and I have to believe that it will take a long time to wear out. Worth the extra cost.

Also use as snake pinning device while walking in woods with 4 yr old toddler and assists in walking in snow and on ice during winter. I also use micro spike chains on boots during winter, I wrapped end of broom handle in plastic food wrap and dripped gorilla glue into opening of care-aid-5-pod cane tip to ensure snug weatherproof no fail fit. I put nonslip rubber chair leg caps( DMI Rubber Walker, Cane, Walking Stick and Commode Tips, Slip Resistant, 1 1/8 Inch, Gray, 4-Count) on rounded end of broom handle to improve traction for walking on ice/tile floors. broom handle lets me ward off aggressors who try to take advantage of disabled........

Like that it allows you to release your cane and it remains standing . But doesn't last long I was on my second one in a very short time .......
