Helpful
Helped my 27 y/o male client with very early onset schizophrenia to differentiate between emotions and emotional expressions on people's faces. Deck features 1 set of plain photos of people's faces making different expressions and a set of cards with people in different situations making different facial expressions.

but I think that also makes for an interesting lesson about how it's not always that easy to tell on a person either
These are very high quality, but as previous reviewers indicated, there are not many different emotion options. Some of them are unclear what the correct answers should be, but I think that also makes for an interesting lesson about how it's not always that easy to tell on a person either. I might make my own supplement cards of other emotions, but otherwise very pleased.

Pros - Loved having scenarios to work through situation and emotions. Loved the diversity in people presented. Loved showing multiples of each emotion so can see the subtle differences between individuals expressing the same emotion.Cons -First, there is not a lot of variation in emotions... This set only includes basic emotions of Happy, Sad, Angry, Surprised, and Disgust Nothing really represented fear or worry to me (even though it was stated in the description.)Second, since so many of the cards are repetitious of the same emotion (needed for matching emotions or seeing the same emotion expressed by different people), it did leave me feeling that the deck lacked depth and became boring fast.Third, only the front of the cards are laminated in order for writing on the back, but I would have preferred for the cards to be laminated on both sides and thus more sturdy for use with young children.Fourth, given this is only 40 cards, lacking in variety... I do question the high price tag. if the set had came with more cards and situation - enough to express like 3-4 more emotions like being silly/having fun, scared/worried, proud, and guilt/shame.... then I would have understood the high price tag and gladly paid it.Overall, sticking with only 5 basic emotions makes the set not as versatile.
