Purchased for Christmas dress, fits like a glove long and comfortable

I ordered this dress for the 19yr old, who has the perfect body type for a dress like this, tall and lean. This dress reminded me so much of back in the 90's, I was really excited for her to have this dress. The fabric itself is ok. It's not fantastic, but it's not garbage either. The weight is perfect to make this a great spring/summer dress. The not so great parts are the seams in the top portion, which, I know could be different on a person by person basis, but on her, they don't sit in a very flattering location. For less than $50, overall the dress is a solid deal, I'm hoping that it can be altered to sit more nicely on her.

I wore this dress to a holiday night market and felt amazing in it. The fit is very flattering, and the fabric is soft, comfortable, and not see-through at all, which I really appreciate. It’s full-coverage and conservative enough for weddings, formal events, or evenings out while still being stylish. As a photographer, I’m always looking for darker or black outfits to wear to events, and this dress is perfect for that—especially for spring weddings or evening gatherings. It photographed beautifully and was comfortable to walk around in all night. The only thing I wish it had was a small slit up the leg for a bit more airflow, but honestly, it was perfect for an Oregon winter evening event and kept me cozy. Overall, a great buy and very versatile.

This Princess Polly maxi dress - emphasis on maxi - is beautifully made and comfortable to wear. However, I agree with the other reviews when it comes to the top being too big. I'm 5'6", a size 8, and wear a 34E bra and I ordered a size 8 dress - and the bodice definitely gaps at the armholes. The dress also fits loose instead of body conscious as seen on the model, so I wonder if sizing down might have helped; this is an Australian brand and I've found in the past that Aussie and British clothing brands tend to overestimate their US size conversions. The dress also has a side zipper and that leads to the other issue: the seam with the zipper doesn't lie flat on the hip and causes puckers instead, with the lining and the dress both affected. The inner lining is a smooth rayon fabric; the outer dress is polyester that drapes well and feels like non-stretchy swimsuit fabric to me. Overall the dress is comfortable and flattering, and I like the length on me - it falls to the top of my shoes - although people whose height is below 5'6" might find this too long. The bodice shows off cleavage but isn't too revealing and I'll probably wear a sweater or top over the dress anyway because of the armhole gaps. Overall, I really like the dress and how it moves and flows - very happy to add it to my wardrobe!

I really wanted to like this dress the image in the ad is so perfect. And the dress, in person, is cute. But on me it didn’t do me any favors. The fit was awkward. The boobs were very conical, maybe a different, 1950s inspired bra would be ideal? And the bottom looked like I was a weird shaped reverse flower. The print is so cute. The material is a mesh-y poly. The pics that people have posted in their reviews are amazing, I just wish it looked like that on me, because it has the potential to be a fantastic dress!

Super fun dress!! It's a nice feeling material -- not slippery smooth, but nice feeling all the same. Love the polka dots as well -- it's a cheery wear. I have worn this dress a couple of times, including to church. It IS a little bit form-fitting and it IS too low-cut for me, but I used a scarf to cover a little bit more. It seems to be well made, and true to size. I've been losing weight, so wearing something a little bit more form fitting is fun. I'm 5'5", 150 lbs, and chose a size 12.

The style of this Princess Polly women’s Nellie maxi dress is lovely. I ordered my typical size small which was perfect. For reference, I am 5‘5“ tall and weigh 125 pounds. What attracted me most to this dress is the flattering angled seams in the bodice. The straps and arm holes are perfectly sized for me. I can wear a bra without the straps being visible. The shaping around the waist and hips is flattering as well. I appreciate the spaghetti tie waist and hidden zipper, which help the dress keep its nice shape compared with pull-over dresses that often feel baggy in the mid section. I love the slightly above the ankle length as well. This allows the dress to easily transition between day (worn with casual slip on shoes) and evening (worn with a pair of strappy kitten heels). The fabric is lightweight making it a good option for summer activities. There are two layers to counteract any potential “see-through” issues. The inner lining on my dress is black. Unfortunately, the seams are rather substantial, considering the delicate fabric, and they are quite visible through the polka dotted fabric along my hips and thighs. I did try ironing the inner seams flat to see if that would minimize their visibility with limited results. The dress is absolutely adorable. I love the slimming style, but lumpy hips and thighs is not a look I strive for. I’m still giving this dress four stars because I haven’t given up on finding a way to fix the issue with the inner lining.
