Monoprice Micro USB OTG Adapter (109724)

I got it for a recent purchase of Fire Cube TV. It works, and it's very cheap. I don't see a reason to buy $15+ adapters when Fire Cube only supports USB 2.0 connection, as would 90% of devices that require an OTG for expansion. It's perfectly fine for accessories like mouse/keyboard or to expand storage to a small USB drive.

This adapter came very fast. It worked to get all my pictures off my phone with a broken screen. It is not cheaply made. If you didn't already know, you can hook this up to a a phone, plug in a mouse, and you are able to move a mouse cursor on the phone's screen! I have had an adapter that did not work for this function, but this one did. It is short, but I knew that when I bought it. There is nothing bad about this adapter!

I think for these OTG cables you have to be very careful. I had gotten several from monoprice. But they did not work with my nexus 7 and nexus media imported. I opted to try a different brand--this one--and it works fine. Its not just an OS update either--as I have tried the same usb sticks with both cables and only this one works without a hitch for reading all my media. So this one does the trip! not all OTG cables are made equal it would seem.

Does what it should. So far only checked with a usb 3 thumb drive, phone found it and read it without issue. I like the right angle connector.

OTG cable is solid and does what it's supposed to for the most part. The only problems I have had with it are that 1. the micro USB insert is very short and doesn't go into my tablet without taking the protective case off. (I can plug any regular charging cable into the tablet and they go in just fine.) 2. Some USB sticks don't light up when you plug them in, presumably because they need more power or something. Anyway everything is moving to USB C now, so if you have an old tablet or phone, you should probably get this while it's still on the market.

Sturdy connection, no problems with data (OTG) or charging with the few accessories I've tried (USB stick, USB DAC). I guess it could be a tad more flexible, but that's nitpicking.

Bought three of these for use with my FireTV cubes (wanted to add add’l storage space). These cables did not work—had to order another brand of cables (which did work). Disappointed.

This OTG cable is probably one of the higher quality ones that I have purchased so far. The cable itself is of a rather firm feeling material and does not feel flimsy or cheap. The right-angled end requires a small amount of pressure to slide in and out of the MicroUSB port, but firmly remains in-place and does not move around or come out on it's own. (tested on Nexus 5, Nexus7, HP Stream7, various Samsung devices) The female USB end has just as much of a firm grip as the other end, and has held onto cables, memory sticks and other USB accessories without as much as a single slip or disconnection so far! Data transfer and power supply are both almost perfect, providing standard USB2 power to accessories. (bit of a power drain and could use an external MicroUSB power port, but OTG uses a lot of power, just because of how it works.) As impressed with this as I am, I would not recommend putting too much strain on either end of this cable, despite the sturdy construction. There are only two things that would improve this product, an extended and reinforced boot on the cable at each end (to take the strain off of the joint further, and an external MicroUSB power input to reduce the power requirements, I would buy this product again! Great price and quality product!

This cable works well. Because of the 90 degree bend in the micro USB head, I ended up buying another one because this one covered my power port. This is likely just my bad luck. All the same, check that your microUSB port isn't right beside anything that is important before selecting this model.

Great little adapter that works as advertised.

The connector is a bit more snug-fitting than I'd like, but it's overall a fine cable.
