Helps to nourish leather
Leather on its own is waterproof. This spray helps protect the leather. I use this on my Golden Goose shoes and it works. Helps to maintain the shine on my leather shoe. Application is simple. Spray and let dry. It is effective in keeping the shoe clean. After I spray, I use a cloth to clean the shoe

To protect and serve...your boots
This heavy-duty leather protector is a total essential if you want to keep your boots looking fresh without sacrificing their natural feel. I used it on my Red Wing Iron Rangers, and it created a breathable, invisible barrier that repels water and mud effortlessly while keeping the leather soft and flexible. The quick-dry formula is a massive plus because it doesnโt leave behind any sticky residue or that fake-looking shiny finish that some cheap sprays do. Itโs the perfect way to preserve the original color and texture of your gear while ensuring it can stand up to rain, snow, and daily grime. Whether you're breaking in a new pair of premium boots or protecting your favorite leather accessories, this spray significantly extends their life and keeps them looking top-tier. Its easy to apply and given its overall effectiveness, feel this is a good value option! Pro Tip: For the most even coverage and professional results, hold the can about 6โ8 inches away and apply two light, misty coats instead of one heavy one; wait about 15 minutes between coats to let the protectant fully bond with the leather fibers for maximum water resistance.

Reliable Waterproof Spray That Keeps Leather Soft
Review for Red Wing Shoes Leather Protector, Leather Waterproof Spray, 4 fl oz I purchased the 4 fl oz bottle to protect my leather boots against winter weather conditions. The spray nozzle delivers a fine mist that covers the surface evenly without creating heavy streaks on the material. Functionality is strong because water beads up on the treated areas which keeps moisture out effectively during rainy days or snowfalls. Build quality of the bottle feels solid enough for storage but the pump mechanism can leave tiny droplets if you do not maintain consistent motion during application. I suggest having an extra boot under the one you are spraying to catch some free over-spray or drips. I think this is a good size bottle to see if you're going to keep up with waterproofing your boots. I appreciate that the spray does not dry out the material so it stays soft and comfortable for wearing. I appreciate that the color does not change after drying so the natural look of the leather remains intact without adding a shiny finish to the surface. Ease of cleaning is convenient since there is no sticky residue left on the material once the spray dries completely. Durability appears good because my boots stayed dry through several snowfalls and rainstorms without needing immediate reapplication during the season. Value for money stands out as reasonable considering one bottle treats approximately five to six pairs of footwear over time. Ease of use is straightforward although you should avoid enclosed spaces due to the smell during spraying sessions. I plan to continue using this protector every year to maintain condition on my leather goods which makes it a reliable choice for seasonal care.

Effective Protection, but Leaves Visible Residue During Application
This leather protector works as intended and helps repel moisture, keeping leather in good condition. One thing to note is the formula. The spray appears to be a suspension of a white substance in a clear liquid. When applied to dark leather, you can see small white particles on the surface. These can be spread out and worked into the leather with brushing, after which they become mostly invisible. The main downside is the value. At $15.99 (at the time of review) for a small bottle, it feels a bit overpriced for the amount provided. Overall, itโs effective, but the application process and price may not be ideal for everyone.

Perfect for protecting boots/shoes or car seat leather
Love this spray! I own several pairs of Ariat western boots and have tried other cleaners. I honestly didn't get this my boots though. I got it for my car. I recently got a new Bronco with leather seats and have been so concerned with keeping them in good condition. I stewed and stewed on what to put on them that wouldn't change the seat color or mess with the texture. This popped up and I decided to give it a go. I know Red Wing has been around for many, many years and is an excellent quality boot maker, my husband has used their boots for work for years. I figured if their boots are good, their boot care must be good as well. I cleaned and conditioned my seats with Red Wing cleaner and oil first. I probably didn't need this step, but went ahead with it anyway. My seats are in a car with significant in and out of sports equipment and teenage boys so I figured it couldn't hurt to have the extra layer. For this one, I just misted it on directly and wiped over it with a cloth. No residue left or anything. I loved that none of this made a weird smell after use, no issues with my seats changing colors, no transfer to skin/clothes since it dries quickly. Figured if it's good enough for $200 boots, might as well see how it works on a $60k car lol. I loved this product and think I will stick with it. It's a great price point, easy to use with good instructions and I have plenty left in each container after going through all the seats. My leather definitely looks better than it did before the application. Will prob do it every 4 months or so.

Good Quality Protectant Spray
I use these on my Birkenstocks to give me just a little bit of extra protection in case I find myself in unfavorable damp conditions. I've used this on my Birk boots and sandals to protect the leather and once dried, you wouldn't even notice that there was any coverage on it, but you will notice small amounts of water will bead off the leather. You do need to spray in small quick bursts to make sure it's a very fine mist that lands on the leather. If you get too close, you'll get splotches, so make sure to take some practice sprays before covering your whole shoe. I was able to use this on 7 pairs of shoes and there was still a decent amount in the bottle. When I have used the aerosol water proofers, I can only get two or three pairs of shoes from one can, so this certainly seems like a much better value, but we'll see how long it goes before I have to reapply.

Good leather waterproofing; dry leather uses a lot
I have used several bottles of this over the last 10 years to protect fine boots from salt stains Positives - it does really good job of protecting fine fine leather from salt stains, like from commuting in the winter - underlining solvent does not damage leather when it "dries". Some shoe polish, for example, damages shoes while it makes them look nice. - reasonable waterproofing for rainy days - extremely thoroughly tested product Negatives - really dry leather soaks up lot product - not the product to use to waterproof leather work boots so that you can stand in puddles
