Smooth operation
Replaced old, difficult to use socket. Fit perfectly at almost half the cost of SIM lar one from local hardware store. Works smoothly!

Good replacement for original socket.
Installed easily on $50.00 lamp that now, I didn't have to throw away and can use for a long time to come. It was decently built, better than the original and I have no complaints, several weeks later.[By the way, with 'this' kind of socket on my simple lamp, it doesn't matter what screw the wires attach to. I did them one way, then the other with no difference. I am not an electrician. I'm a nurse, writer and musician but I try and fix a few things now and then. I read up online about this socket after I lost track of what screw the wires had been attached to on the broken fixture. The best info came from an electrician specifically for this socket and said, that it didn't matter.]

Sturdy and reliable
This replacement socket works as advertised. The threads on the top were not smooth and it was challenging to get the retainer ring started but it finally worked. The socket and switch seem to work just fine and I am pleased with it overall.

Fixed an old desk lamp, works well so far.
Simple fix/install on an old desk lamp that blew out.Just be sure to have a replacement strain relief bushings if you have to take the current one out. Also if you have trouble taking a strain relief out, there are special strain relief pliers you can buy which can also be used for installation.

Poor Quality
This replacement switch broke after six weeks of use. I bought the part to fix my desk lamp that I turn on and off once a day. So, it basically worked for about 80 times (40 on, 40 off). I was expecting it to work for years. What a disappointment.

part
The 3/8 nut was missing but could have been lost in the mail.

It works
It’s an electrical socket for desk type lamps where you need the heat protection afforded by the porcelain base. And it works. What else you going to say? It does its job as it should.

Cute
I order 2 and they were smashed to pieces. Got replacement in about about 10 days. Big inconvenience returning the smashed ones though. Lid does not tighten
